A great video, thank you. It’s very useful to see all the profiles together so I’m able to get a better idea of size comparisons. I’m using this for cabinets on my van build, & I’m excited to get to this stage. I was a mechanic in a previous life so I’ll be able to figure it all out, but I’m not much of a carpenter, so this extrusion will make the build much more simple, with a nice clean finished look.

which series are easier to get and have better variety of accessories? Whether thru 8020 brand or otherwise.

how much weight can the extrusion carry? for example, I want to build a portable meat locker on the front of my trailer for butchering on the farm/ranch. a side of beef weights upward of 400lbs, 8-10 pigs at 200lbs a piece. obviously, i would not hang all of that at once but I am curious about how much it could hang.

Is it possible to build a bike frame for an ebike application? Can it hold up to vibration temperature changes and moisture?

Wish that 8020 was available in Europe. The availability of aluminum profiles over on this side of the pond is almost non-existing, unless you pay premium price for other brands and expensive shipping. :(

that's just not true, there are plenty of aluminium profiles in europe, just under different brands. If you want nice professional ones, look at Item brand.

So I think it just kind of dawned on me. I've been trying to figure out for a long time is 80/20 The company or brand name of these and it has nothing to do with the category like 2020, 2040 etc

Why does the fractional series even exist‽ The 25-2525 (25mm × 25mm) is (theoretically) only 0.4mm narrower than the 1010 (1.0" × 1.0" fractional), but that tiny difference can be enough to mess things up, depending on the application.

Get the fuck outta here with your interrobang nonsense, ya basta ya.

Beciase the US market for extrusions is massive and using 10 and 15 series in the US is far more precise since pretty much all of our tools are calibrated to imperial units.

Which size is a bit smaller than a 1.5?
@PickledShark3 ай бұрын
30 series metric = 1.18 inch. That would be the next size down from 15 series (imperial)
