These commercials aired on KNDO in September of 1984
1. Jhirmack Natural Formula Performance Shampoo and Conditioner (With Victoria Principal)
2. Nature Valley Chewy Granola Bars (Amazing commercial and catchy jingle)
3. Impulse (PSA: don't actually stalk random women on trains)
4. Levi's Cords
5. "Solid Gold" Commercial Bumper
6. Pizza Hut (Featuring the Pizza Hut "bag bag" offer)
7. Central Washington State Fair (Well, I guess I missed my chance to meet Wolfman Jack!)
8. Promo for "Wheel Of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" (RIP Alex Trebek, we all know Jeopardy was the GOAT and that "Wheel Of Fortune" is for simpletons)
9. United Way Carrier Alert PSA (Are you a retired busybody? Have we got a job for you!)
10. Betty Crocker (Uh, you've got a little frosting in your mustache there, Bill)
11. Soft & Dri
12. Ace Hard Rubber Comb (WOW a commercial for a comb! This might be the only one that I ever post here, so enjoy it!)
13. Ice Blue Aqua Velva (5:36 Then why the hell did you marry me?)

15. Wendy's (The infamous "Where's The Beef?" ad...one of the more iconic commercials of the 80's)
16. Snyder's Sliced White Bread (Snyder's Bread is made from PEOPLE! Tiny, tiny people!)
17. Les Schwab Tires (This chain is still around and has hundreds of locations in several states...mostly California and the Pacific Northwest. Les Schwab died in 2007 at age 89: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Schwab)

OK, a few things to unpack here: 1) This is a hardcore 80s-ified commercial block from one of the most 80s-ified series of the decade! Several moments of neon and pastel colors, big hair, high sneakers, and one of the most famous commercials of the decade. Pretty much every aspect of 80s aesthetic is present in this block. Love it! 2) I also love the mix of national and local spots here. Plenty of national spots of products past and present, plus several local commercials and PSAs to add local flavor. I appreciate that!

I remember a lot of families in my neighborhood having that Pizza Hut bag. Saw it at many a sleepover.

Where’s the Beef became such a cultural phenomenon that it was on shirts and being used in political campaigns.

Yeah it was really a thing for awhile. There was even a licensed board game and a card game. The actress eventually ruined her own claim to fame by doing an ad for Prego meat sauce saying she "found" the beef. Wendy's dropped her and the campaign for infringing on their trademark.

The fact that her response to Wendy's dropping her and the entire campaign was "I've made them millions, and they don't appreciate me." ...it seems like she didn't really learn anything from the incident.

Yeah it’s really hard to overstate the cultural impact that those “Where’s the Beef” ads had in 1984. That phrase was EVERYWHERE! Clara Peller (the actress who said the line) was an overnight star.

Nature Valley Chewy Granola Bars- There’s something so charming about watching the animated Letter C eat the various words throughout this commercial. Pizza Hut- The bag that they offer for $1 in this commercial sounds like a good deal, but judging from the looks of it, I would imagine it wasn’t very durable.

Getting my tickets Jeopardy-Godspeed,Alex Betty Crocker-Epic 'stache Ace Hard Rubber Comb-Ace Hard.. there's a 80s action hero name for you Snyder's Sliced White Bread-should be called Soylent White😆 Solid Gold End Credits-Dick Clark should've had Rick as a fill-in host for American Bandstand with those dance moves 🤣

Out of curiosity, do you ever get comments requesting very specific commercials/promos/shows? I'm still getting my feet wet on my own VHS channel and it's a little intimidating for people to ask me if I have specific stuff when I'm not even done going through the tapes I have.

Yes, I do. And it's annoying. Pretty much everything I post here is from random blocks of TV, so there's little to no chance of me actually having whatever commercial/thing the person wants. For your own sanity I'd advise you to just ignore people that have requests.
