It's crazy how as a kid I hated commercials but now they bring me joy.

I was in the fourth grade when this aired. I can just picture myself still in my pajamas with a huge bowl of cereal and being mesmerized by all this cool stuff. Great times.

I love the '82 ABC bumper graphics, for some reason the way they display the ABC logo at the end somewhere really small is very enjoyable to me.

A SANDWICH?! NO, NOT THAT! Levi's Acid Trip Jeans? Now that I've seen that animated Mork & Mindy exists, my life couldn't be anymore complete. Not to mentions seeing a commercial for Demons To Diamonds!

Why, has this world changed so, damn much ? Progress is one thing but, now television is so dull. The commercials SUCK !!! Wish I could go back to the 80's. The fun of youth. Greag memories !!! Love the channel \ m / ● ● \ m /

Happy Fourth of July, also! Grilling some burgers and homemade smoked sausage. Could go for some Chips Ahoy! or a Whatchamacallit bar for a little snack after watching these commercials. Although, Skor bar was my personal favorite.

I was a sucker for anything superhero back then (still kinda am), and the Crest Team, any popular comedy cartoon who became a superhero, Mr. S and his super socks, all were the ones who fed that appetite.

Older version of the Schoolhouse Rock closing credits-as indicated by the (nearly) complete list of films in the series. (This one, "Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla", isn't listed; it was produced later.)

I still wonder why commercials always feel irritating at the time, but years later seem charming and nostalgic?
@80sCommercialVault9 жыл бұрын
kingofpointless Back then they interrupted whatever show or movie you wanted to see. Or maybe their charm was lost after seeing them played 100 times on the same channel. Removed from that context they can be appreciated as the wonderful slices of entertainment that they are.

Sounds like ABC was trying to wring every last drop out of anything remotely related to Happy Days by then judging from having a cartoon version of spin-offs Mork & Mindy and Laverne & Shirley (never mind that the live-action Mork & Mindy had closed up shop after 4 seasons that May, Laverne & Shirley was entering its last year and Happy Days had a lot of miles on the odometer and probably had gone about 2 years {at least} too long by this point).
@TTrigg9 жыл бұрын
Demons to Diamonds.. wtf did Robin Williams voice Mork in the animated show,or was it a sound-alike?
@80sCommercialVault9 жыл бұрын
TTrigg Yes, all of the voice talent in the Garry Marshall cash-in cartoon shows were the original actors...for some reason.

"Ken likes it straighter!" Wow. That cloud/sun bumper looks like it was made with MS Paint, haha. (I know MS Paint didn't exist at the time, but I know they could do better CGI than THAT in 1982.) That Levi's ad! Probably the weirdest and most creative ad for jeans I've ever seen. Really glad cartoons got better by the time I started watching them. These all look terrible.
@beckigreen9 жыл бұрын
CGI was very expensive and time consuming in the 80's. You must be pretty young.
