These commercials aired on local Fox affiliate KTVU on March 10th, 1989
1. "Alvin And The Chipmunks" Commercial Bumper
2. Squeezit (Grape Squeezit was tasty)
3. Autowest Toyota Fremont
4. The Bedroom (Amazing)
5. KTVU Kidstown Newsroom
6. "Alvin And The Chipmunks" Commercial Bumper
7. 3 Musketeers
8. Army Gear (None of these toys would be made today)
9. Promo for "Punky Brewster" (I only really remember the one where her friend gets trapped in a refrigerator and the one where she battles a giant spider. Both were nightmare fuel)
10. "Alvin And The Chipmunks" Commercial Bumpers
11. Oreo Double Stuf (They should just discontinue the regular Oreos and have all of them be double stuf. There, I said it)
12. Teddy Grahams (I remember dancing to these commercials back then. Now they just scare me. But the chocolate ones were delicious)
13. Cherry Merry Muffin (Chocolottie...LOL)
14. TV Spot for "Police Academy 6: City Under Siege" (Did they make one of these every six months?)
15. "Alvin And The Chipmunks" Commercial Bumpers
16. Bits & Pieces (This was a series of PSA's featuring KTVU weatherman/amatuer puppeteer Pat McCormick)
17. Spitballs (At one point I had an eyeball that squirted water. It must have been one of these things)
18. KTVU Morning Schedule Bumper
19. "The Woody Woodpecker Show" Commercial Bumper
20. TV Spot for "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" ("Excellent!")
21. G.I. JOE Arctic Blast (I love these little songs)
22. Pretender Transformers
23. "The Woody Woodpecker Show" Commercial Bumpers
24. Pocket Power
25. Juvenile Diabetes Foundation PSA (With Mary Tyler Moore)
26. Promo for "DuckTales"
27. "The Woody Woodpecker Show" Commercial Bumper

As a kid I always imagined the year 2000 being shinier, newer and better. Not unlike the 2015 depicted in "Back To The Future Part II". Now I just find myself wishing it was the 80's again.

I could look at these 80's commercials all night. There is so much nostalgia. I'm so glad that I was born in 74 so I had the opportunity to live in the 80's. The economy was bad but the memories are priceless. Thanks for the uploads

This whole idea that it's weird or uncommon for blocks of cartoons to have the occasional ad targeted to adults is proved wrong by dozens of volumes I've posted. The truth is that these ads for local businesses probably played throughout the day, regardless of what program was showing.

The 80's ads are better that the 90's ads. Because with the 90's ads there's not much difference between then and now. The 80's ads however, have an entirely different feel. From an artistic point of view the 80's commercials are way more original. Even though most people think the 80's were cheesy/corny. I don't watch TV anymore. But I would watch an "authentic" 80's television network, if there were one.

The KTVU Kidstown would continue through the early 90's although when the AM block was discontinued in 1991 in favor of "Mornings on 2", the afternoon block would still continue right through 2002 when the whole block was discontinued after FOX's own kids block ended.

Sgt. Slaughter was a professional wrestler by trade. The people who made G.I. Joe decided to make him a member of the Joes because his wrestling character of an army drill sergeant fit the mold. If you want to see some of his wrestling-related work, just search for "Sgt. Slaughter" on this site. It's not hard to find, I assure you.

Did the audience of Alvin & The Chipmunks routinely go out and buy cars and adult bedroom furniture from stores that had double entendre-laced ads? Bill & Ted was only rated PG? I could have sworn that had enough naughty parts to get a PG-13. And I'm sort of amazed that, after the first Police Academy was rated R, the series had devolved to a kiddie show by the time part 6 rolled around. Wouldn't the people behind Strawberry Shortcake be a bit upset over Cherry Merry Muffin?

Oh, I begged for those dumb Squeeze-it drinks! And then when you actually drank one, the "squeeze factor" only worked while it was full, you really couldn't just squeeze & drink the whole thing. Oh, the memories! "Grape, Orange, Cherry and MOOOOOOOOOOORE!" Those Pocket Power toys look like something my 9 year old son would LOVE! The Woody Woodpecker show was one of the best cartoon shows ever made. My son saw a picture of him and didn't even know who he was! Sad.
