That Levi's commercial at 3:49 reminds me of another Levi's ad I haven't seen since around that time. It used similar animation, but involved a train of Levi's jeans going past a farm or something. I only saw it once or twice as a kid, but for some reason it stuck out to me. I'd love to see it again if you ever come across it.

I say this a lot, but watching these on a CRT TV back then would have cut off around 5% of the edges of the picture because of what is called overscan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan So a lot of these ads with suggestive shots of women in the shower from back then were effectively "censored" by the medium they were viewed on because of that. This also explains why some shots of boom mikes and other oddities at the very top or extreme edges of the frame were not seen as a problem back then...because nobody could see them.

I remember running to see the Jean Nate commercials with my sisters because my mother used it but we were SO scandalized by the suggestion of nudity lol I was 5 years old and was fascinated

Mary Louise Weller as a race horse jockey is in this commercial. You also know her from National Lampoon's Animal House.

In South Florida, we never got to hear Howard Cosell's now-famous announcement about John Lennon's murder because the Dolphins-Patriots game was blacked out down here. I do remember them breaking in during the radio broadcast, though.

Monday Night Football started at 6:00 back then? There was a helicopter game for the Intellvision called Hover Force where you flew around a city, but it had nothing to do with the news!

I notice that these commercials aired the day before John Lennon's death! How extremely sad. We lost out on some really great music that I'm sure he would have continued to make.

11:58 - Santa here creeps me out. I think he's getting just a bit too much into these products. Plus, the elf using the nail groomer on him...Just kind of creepy...
