That Crayola commercial that opens this volume is a perfect example of the difference in advertising from then and now. It’s quiet, sentimental, and heart tugging.

I remember breaking out the Crayolas and construction paper to make cards for my father in this era. He kept a few. One states: "the deer are all smiting for you today" which always coaxes a laugh. The cartoonish smile on the crude deer drawing doesn't fully discount the idea of deer carrying out acts of retribution on a hunter's behalf. You know how sadistic deer can be. Man, I miss when people didn't just ironically enjoy Garfield. Reality or no, life felt more wholesome back then.

Oh man I remember the Band Aid Medicated ad back in the day and I was like "what's with the video game sounds?" Nowadays it sounds like the Atari 2600 version of Asteroids!

This was two years before “Married…With Children” existed. The song was written in 1955 by Sammy Cahn for Frank Sinatra, who had zero control over the publishing rights.

Dallas-the setup to the"dream season"..at the finale Duffy made his grand return as ??? (as he was listed in the end credits) Falcon Crest-that was a epic pillow fight
