So awesome. Been planning to build a drawer for a while and this inspired me! Put in the order for all the TNUTZ stuff and got the same carpet as well. Expensive but hopefully can use the leftover for other projects down the line. Thanks for documenting all of this so well. Glad to have all the pieces measured perfectly so I do not end up with a lopsided drawer that only slides halfway decent.

Really great walk through. Been wanting to do this on my 100 series but wasn’t sure how to go about it. Thanks for the video

Great work Buddy. Always a pleasure watching your content. Small suggestion, using an artists canvas stretcher might help in getting a nice taught carpet install.

Thanks for sharing! Do you have a link for the adjustable storage crates you show @ 29:20? I can’t seem to find them online.

(And not calling you out but in case people need that hardware to bolt the slides to the drawers they are “1/2” long #8 machine screws” The “32” refers to the threads per inch and is only specified because some sizes can have both a coarse and fine thread option . “8/32” would just be 1/4” and these are certainly thinner than that. 😊 looks awesome man. Great work; very clean and professional.

Great video and excellent build quality. that extruded stuff is super cool but it sure is expensive! i bet you saved alot on weight though.
@Adv4x4 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! It really is awesome stuff to build with. The extrusion itself isn’t too badly priced they get you on the corner connectors and hardware! Haha.

Putting aluminum angle iron across the front would protect the front edge from the carpet being torn off, and would also hide that black bracket for the lock. I wonder if it's not easy enough to incorporate a base plate into the bottom. Then you could mount that baseplate to the third row mounting points instead of having to use the turnbuckles. Could just screw the baseplate to the metal the same way the top was. It would become pretty heavy that way though I guess. This is very interesting though and seems easy and approachable enough that even I could do it. I'll probably do something similar in my 80. I just shared the video with a buddy who has way more wood working tools than I do. We'll have to see about replicating this.

Nice!! I actually didn’t mind the bracket I could have put it under the carpet as well! That’s a good idea for the aluminum angle though! Goodluck with your build thanks for watching!

When you installed the drawers into your 80 series did you mount it down or does it just lift in and out of the car?

What’s the software you’re using ? Also how did you implement the 80/20 into that software?

Awesome video and drawer system. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for my 80 series (94)I just bought. I’d love to see some build plans. I was looking at some already built systems and no one has anythingfor the 80 series. Although I could make them work with some modification I’d like to build one to its specific storage space. would you be willing to let us know about how mch time and money you have in it? I’m happy I found your channel you have a lot of good stuff for someone like me who needs to restore an 80 series Land Cruiser.

Thanks man! I need to sit down and total it all up! Time wise is hard to judge as I worked on it as I could when I wasn’t at work. Appreciate you watching!!

There are quite a few drawer systems out there for the 80. Just depends on how complex you want it. It's sad some of the simpler ones aren't made anymore. But if you want one that the pricepoint/value seems to intersect at a good point then look up AirUpGearDown. Or perhaps SHW ultralite.

What app are you using for 3D design? Really dig the build btw! I’d forgotten about the 80/20 and was about to build the whole thing of plywood lol
@Adv4x4 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man!! I’m using Shapr3d! I love 80/20 extrusion. It’s on the expensive side. But to me the rigidity of it is worth it. Not to mention your frame will be perfectly square for your drawers which helps a ton in the smoothness of their operation.
