Test drove it past few days. No more over heating. Temp stays pretty normal now even with the AC on.

I got my radiator change last night, but i could not get the fan nut to screw back in place, also i had so much problem to reinstall the small clips for the two lines at the bottom of the radiator, one of them flu away, i order a new set, now I'm on standby until i get them, i think i will unscrew the base where the line go in and install the clips that way and then screw them back. Well thank you for listening.

I replaced my cooling fan clutch on my gmc envoy and the radiator fan doesn’t want to spin freely do you have any idea what I could have done wrong? Any help is appriciated
@sionhall2 жыл бұрын
im about to take the shroud off of mine cuz it warped and is preventing the fan from spinning. question if i leave the shroud off will it be that bad? i know it helps with cooling but if i dont run the air would that be okay?
@FixingWithPassion2 жыл бұрын
I would not. Doesn't take much heat to pop a head gasket. Maybe straighten it out some?

@@FixingWithPassion okay thanks for the advice! i will see what i can do when i remove the shroud.

If its over heating, the fan clutch is probably bad. Mine was over cooling because it failed and allowed the fan to work all the time. I left it like that because I didn't care if it worked all the time. Of course it threw a code, but It never over heated. You had it out, you should have replaced it right then. They always failed by the way. I went through two.

True. But Mine is new. Only 5 mos old. If you look its still shinny like ;D

You should have cleaned out the radiator fins while you had the fan and shroud out it would have helped keep the engine running cooler. It was the perfect opportunity!

That’s awesome brother!! I am in the middle of that right now!! Except I am replacing the radiator in my daughters.. I was worried about that damn water pump nut! But did the same as you except I wedged my pry bar into the water pump bolt.. That damn plug for the cooling fan fought me also!! Lol I will tell you that you make it look easy ! Definitely cursed a few times pulling the shroud out!! I may pop a video up of before and after I just don’t have the patience and honestly it would probably be a hysterical video from all the shit going wrong Baah haha!! I definitely appreciate you making these vids! Always good to know what to expect! Hopefully you do a sun roof one! Lol I love these trucks! They look great great and they really do last!! Again thanks Nathan!!
