Cool. I wonder if taking some nuts of the right size and painting them some color and using them instead of those hexagon pieces wouldn't look nice aswell.

That could work too. Maybe for an industrial theme? Its an idea either way.

@@CyberDenSystems Yes for an industrial theme would work really well.

I want a CnC router sooo dang bad but I dont have several thousand to spend and all the cheap desktop ones dont have spindle motors powerful enough for professional acrylic cuts....

If you build one yourself, they are surprisingly cheap. The one I used in this video, I built for about 1000 bucks. Pieces bought here and there till I had everything. I made all the plates on my previous machine, but, there are a lot of sources where you can get some cheap steal ones and that'll get you up and running. Then, you can use the machine to machine itself some thicker ones.

@@CyberDenSystems Yeah I looked into building one but all the diy kits and such I found were still really expensive, the cheapest one used a dremel at the spindle.. any chance you remember where you started your buying and router building journey?

@@Pnky-chan I started with a 500mm x-carve from inventables. great little machine to get you started. I started getting into materials that had to be machined very slowly because of the x-carves low rigidity. I wanted to start upgrading it with stronger extrusions and that's when i found 8020.net great source here in the us. from there i started gathering parts from amazon and ebay whenever i had some extra cash and eventually i had enough to start assembling my first diy machine.
