Air Cooling! This was my very first PC, and I needed that reliability that would make it last for years ☺️ I paired a Deepcool Assassin 4S on my 7800x3d, and for a CPU that is supposed to run hot, I've never seen go above the 70°C on fairly heavy loads. Most of the time, we're speaking in the 60s here, barely above my GPU temps

The first Luiquid AIO I bought had a pump failure. After that I bought the Luiquid AIO again and after 3 months it leaked (luckily nothing burned). After all that, I switched to air cooling, which amazed me how well it cools my CPU. So I'm in the team Air Cooling. Btw Matt, great video!
@Hullbreachdetected

AIOs are cheap watercooling options. They are made cheap and affordable, easy to install, but the components will be also lesser quality and more prone to failure. Custom loop is a whole different level, but it requires more technical skills and a lot more money. Air cooling is good enough for now, can't speak for furure though.
@izoyt
@izoyt 8 күн бұрын
@@Hullbreachdetected with cpu elements getting smaller, so its their power consumption/heat generation. or to be exact, while they remains size and power consumption, their performance is gained (at least in theory). but sure , with 10-12 core+ (overclocked) monster working under full load (rendering etc) you can expect heat too.

I upgraded my pc recently from i7 3770k to R9 9750x. When I brought my old pc to upgrade, I decided to have liquid cooling for my as it has been my dream since 2013 but vendor suggested me to go for air cooling. He said that all workstations with R9 he has sold were equipped with air coolers and in commercial workspaces, people always choose air cooling over AIO. With heavy heart I went with Deepcool AK620 as per his suggestion and that cooler looked damn cool on my old Coolermaster Haf 912 cabinet with its industrial / tank like look. 4 months down, I am way more happy.

The way you blend cutting-edge tech with fashionable aesthetics is exactly what the PC building scene needs right now. You're setting trends, not just assembling rigs. Keep up this phenomenal work-you're redefining the game! Just a tiny suggestion: The live acting segments feel a bit faster-paced compared to the B-roll. Slowing them down slightly could enhance the cinematic feel and make everything flow more consistently. Keep up the amazing work

I greatly prefer air, but on my most recent build it made more sense to go AIO, so I bought a Thermalright Frozen Notte 240. My Ryzen 5700x3D never clears 60C under full load, and the fans never have to spool up to keep up. That computer stays quieter than the background noise of the house at full speed because of my airflow/AIO optimisation I went for when building it, and I love it.

I lean more toward custom water cooling myself. Never understood going liquid and just watercooling the cpu. Also was never a fan of how AIO cooler tubes just hang. Not all but generally. Rather do hard tubing bends. However with custom comes extra cost. The price of GPU waterblocks alone these days are nuts especially if u are going EK with a Nvidia card. And with how better cpus have been getting over the past decade in regards to out the box clocks and turbos, the average user REALLY doesn't need to OC a chip unless its for bragging rights imo. I highly agree going air is way more maintnance friendly. Its on the user though. Its their rig. Thanks for vid!

Very cool video. Well explained, as most people won’t realise rad area is king. More than rad thickness. Main difference for me, about AIOs is noise. At full blast, all should be good enough. But to perform efficiently without excessive pump noise or fan noise, that’s the magic. Corsair for example, high pitch pumps, loud fans. Db alone won’t show the full picture.

🙌 I wish I could upload more than once a week (on a Monday) but they take an entire week to film and produce so it’s just not possible 😭 either way, I’m glad you’re here for every video!

I bought my first AIO (a 240mm from ID Cooling) a little over a year ago and the price, performance and installation was all lightyears ahead of my last attempt at water cooling, a short-lived custom loop back in the LGA 775 days. Still, I missed the simplicity and reliablity of an air cooler, so when I switched out of the A4-H2O I went with the Peerless Assassin 120 Mini. Pretty capable little guy.

Thank you double 0 Matt. You hit the target on this video. Very well explained. I have noticed how much you use Asus and Noctua products. I love both brands but especially with Asus's TUF series. I like air cooling over AIO's but that was the best explanation of AIO positioning.

I’m glad you took the time to absorb the radiator AIO positioning too. It’s one of the more important parts and shouldn’t be misconstrued by other, less direct information 🙂

@@Mr_Matt_Lee I am more team air cooling, especially Noctua rather than team AIO. I did purchase the Corsair H100 for my Z97 white Sabranco TUF motherboard of which I wanted to keep that mobo pristine due to it being a limited edition but like an idiot as I was installing the H100 it came crashing down onto the intel pins. So ended my days of the H100 and so the death of my Sabertooth

I rep both Team Air and Team Liquid. I use a Deep Cool LS520 AIO top mounted on my current gaming PC. It's got a Core i5 12600k cpu, 32 gigs of ram, and a RTX 4070. I use a Deep Cool AS500 Plus air tower cooler on my second PC. It's got a Ryzen 7 5800X cpu, 32 gigs of ram, and a RTX 3070. Both coolers do and excellent job at keeping the temps down. The aio did take more time to install. Besides that both are good options. It comes down to preference. Performance or aesthetics. I like a little of both in my builds, both of which are white builds with RGB.

I always wanted to try AIO but I'll always go for air. I like the looks, simplicity and price.

I went Team Project Zero this year and settled on Lian Li with their Hydroshift AIO. It looks and performs beyond my expectations plus it fits the near cableless design of my MSI tower.

I've been using air coolers all my life, for many many years, but this year i bought and upgraded from nhd15 to Icerberg Thermal IceFLOE OASIS 360mm AIO and honestly, im never looking back at air coolers. The performance for my 5950x is soo much better with my AIO, basically ~10c drop from the cpu and actually ~7c drop from the gpu because of my AIO top, exhaust orientation, which surprised me the most.

I personally love air coolers I have a Deepcool AK620 and it keeps my CPU cooled during 6-8 hours of gaming. 1 year in and still going strong.

I've long thought that an AIO was pretty necessary for high performing PCs. On my most recent PC, I decided to give a good Air cooler a shot. 13700KF/4070Ti w/ a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120SE. 2 fans in push-pull on the ac. I've been very impressed by how well it can cool that miniature space heater (13700K). I really only game on my PC, so it's more than enough for that. In a sustained 250W pull, it will throttle just a hair, but once the fans have ramped up, it will maintain very well. The price/performance of TR's products are unbeatable I believe.

I prefer the ascetics an AIO gives to a gaming PC, but I felt In love again to air coolers after revamping my pc from HEAVY RGB all white pc to a minimal all black out pc, also less cables to deal with.

Air cooled internally with some extra fans and directional baffles to better direct cool/warm air flow. I occasionally use a room fan to direct cool air to the intakes and to cool the case/blow the hot air away.
