This is one of the greatest fights of all time. In a truly legendary showdown, Tawatchai Budsadee, a man with 800 fights, faces off against UK legend Damien Trainor. Trainor is a pioneer who combined the best of western kickboxing and Thai style Muay Thai. Tawatchai likes to showcase Muay Boran style techniques and is very aggressive. Both of them being aggressive technicians made an epic bout that the fans will never forget. How to Fight Giants VIP Waitlist: www.strikingacademy.com/giant

Anyone who is great at something had better hope they failed at least 800 times before they start getting that good. I guess what I mean is, whatever your passion is (for me, it's drawing, painting, sculpting) you had better put in 800 days, nights, before you start even claiming any sort of skill at all. Great things take time. Anyone the equivalent worth of their true greatness, will tell you that 800 is nothing. Nothing. If you lose count, then you're hopefully up there somewhere among the greatest, or at the very least, proud of yourself. I wish that everyone could become the greatest in something. Anything at all. Believe in yourself, above all else. And maybe don't worry about the count. Just do it every muffler chuckin' day! (lol...muffler chuckin' sounds like anal...yikes! I take it back!) Just work hard every day!

That's why most of the time their careers are over in their mid 20s, if they don't off to fight foreigners in some hybrid show like k-1 or now this "thai fights". Many of the greats became stadium champion (which I hold in higher regard than "world champion" titles, if it's rajadamnern or lumpinee stadium.. maybe even omnoi at some point) at age 16. They've been fighting since they were children, taking so much abuse, that their bodies are shot by then. I laugh at Joe Rogan talking about "crisp muay thai" in the UFC. It's a sad joke, American Muay Thai in general is. Let alone the shit they show in the UFC. They'd get blasted out by any better European fighter in a pure Muay Thai fight, let alone by top tier Thai opposition.

About clinching taking over Muay Thai. I believe Saenchai or Samart may have said this change was due to gamblers. The gamblers couldn't really "see" the beauty and technical aspects of Muay Thai but clinching was easier for them to grasp. These gamblers love cock fighting and even fighting beetles. So this change was because of gamblers.

I love the fact that even the GOAT of Muay Thai can see that the Thais are stagnating the sport of Muay Thai with the newer focus on clinching and discouragement of footwork. I don’t know if the coming foreign generations of fighters will surpass the skill ceiling of the Thais but there is a good chance that they could. Edit: forgot about the gambling situation of Muay Thai, I think that is the main hold back instead. As for the “newer” or more mainstream Thai fighters they seem to favor more of the striking aspect instead of clinching although they do use it effectively. They are still raising the bar.
