Thank you for update. I noticed that the L and XL models no longer are shipped with Shimano crank but a Miranda instead. Looks like great bike

Very interesting! I do prefer the Rohloff and belts almost must have option.. How about the rims on this model, are they also reinforced with thicker parts of aluminum like many other brands? I can see this is a nice bike and great features like the stock Brooks seat for example and racks.. I am wondering what the tiny differences would be and why the better bikes are more expensive, maybe consider hydraulic disc brakes instead of mechanical and things like warranty and proven brands have the test of time in their favor, I hear some people encountered many rusted small parts on this bike, broken rims and ect - I do agree that most of them are too expensive for what you get and Decathlon definitely sets some example here, affordable for everyone, but not the best!

The price of the bike is very attractive because it is almost sold only online. It is very difficult to test the bike or to find it on display. I bought mine without having seen in real and I am very glad. The rims are double wall and pinned (not welded) but this makes no difference for "heavy" rims. The disk brakes with cables are the best solution for a touring bike. A key figure of this bike is the luggage rack very stable.

@@christianwuethrich2222 Nice bike and good to know about the rims but they are no Andra30 rims ect.. It is just no premium high end bike where it is all about belt drives systems and premium parts, you basically want to have these days.. Anyway how long do you have it already?! I heard and seen over time this bike parts especially some nuts and bolts and frame parts become rusty and the paint scratches quick also on the luggage racks, all this things show these bikes are not build to last, but build to maintain - is the key difference between premium and bargain bikes..

Thanks, a lot for your review. I have already a bike from Decathlon (Cross Bike), and I am very happy with it. But since I am planning now to do long distance biking (all season, elevation and more remote days) its not sufficient anymore for this. I like your added shocks, that would be also good solution for my current bike. One other point you mentioned was about this flexing handle bar. Unfortunately, it was acoustically not clear. What was the brand name of this (new?) handle bar? I would also like to have look at this option. Thanks in advance for clarification.

Good review. I'm considering one and mean to visit Decathlon but not sure if they allow a test ride. it's quite a heavy bike which worried me a bit.
@christianwuethrich22222 ай бұрын
Don't be afraid of some extra weight. My previous bike was 4 kg lighter but at the end it was slower because the energy was lost in the flexing of the frame. With this bike I climb better, I get a speed of 30 km/h loaded with 22 kg luggage and it goes up to 37 km/h unloaded. Weight is only a number but it is not translated in poor performance automatically.

Thats a long steerer tube - did you extend it? I like to have my handlebars high for more upright riding...

@@karelnoe2419 Of course you had to jack it up. Bike is 2 inches too small. STUPID. No Rohloff14 either. Pfffft. The seat stays lower on the seat tube is a lame fad as well. If you can't reach the bar, then use full 80d swept bars that also have 60 mm rise. This is what I have used most of my life, never had discomfort. At least you got the best TRP calipers.

@@GordoGambler In my case the bike wasnt too small but I prefer an upright position.
