Can’t wait for the finals recap. The rounds were crazy watch live (on tv). Wish Drew could have made it too - two Ohio guys in the same event

Thanks for putting together this series. As a coach of high school 800 runners who missed championships in T&F for the last 2 years due to Covid, the videos are a great way to help them be more savvy championship racers.

Awesome recap! Oh yea and Sanya Richards is a great commentator but she knows sprints more than middle or long distance. Shes a 400m gold medalist. I think that’s why she wasn’t very accurate when talking about your strengths. Fun fact, I went to high school and ran track in same town as she did back in the day. We both were state champions but I chose to pursue my career while she pursued running obviously. But knowing what I know now, I wish I had access to more knowledge, had better coaches, training etc as I think I only scratched the surface of what I was capable of, but I had no idea about all that. I was just out there to have fun. Sanya on the other hand new very well, and I’m happy for her accomplishments. And I’ve done really well in my career so I’m not at all regretful. Can’t wait to see more vids Murphy!

Can u make this a series of recapping any important races in your running career?

Really enjoyed your commentary and analysis,Clayton! I cringe a little bit too when commentators who don’t compete in the event try to call the race. The networks need to have more experts in the different events available. They have plenty of money to spread around and hire some people who can do justice to all these different specialties. Don’t get me wrong, I love Sanya’s commentary on what she knows best!

You should collaborate with Nick Symmonds or the Athlete special

Id say no to Symmonds, but Athlete Special or FoggDog would be legit

This has nothing to do with this video, but is actually about your weight training video. I’m a hs xc and middle distance runner and was wondering if we want to incorporate weight lifting over the summer for xc if you recommend a certain plan we can look up or maybe if you make another weight lifting video give some advice for hs athletes on a routine.

Do you think your opponents suspected you were dealing with a hamstring issue by the way you ran the heat?

Clayton can you do an 800m spike review? like your favorites?

He said he likes the Nike air zoomx maxflys because he comes from a sprint background and likes staying on his toes. For anybody else the air zoom victorys(if you are aggressive), new balance MD-X and the Nike zoomx dragonflys(if you’re less aggressive) are all good options
