Fun fact, Manson actually tried really hard to be his own lawyer. But once it became a death penalty case the judge ruled that he would hinder his own defense. Manson hated his lawyer and wasn't quiet about it, he and his followers were disruptive in Cort and Manson even lunged at the judge with a pen I think. His lawyer did end up writing a book but he is also kinda controversial in his own rite
