Wasn't expecting to cry at the end of a comedy show - beautiful "its not about the joke, it's about who's telling it"

I watch a lot of stand up, and I thought I'd never seen him before, but saw a comment about his "This is not happening" video... Now I need to go rewatch that and re-evaluate my life choices and how I've not watched more of him. This was absolutely fantastic. Also sad I missed him as I live in Denver. Showing this to my wife when she gets home.

I'm literally dying. I'm glad I clicked. I am pretty set in my ways with comedians and you just got added to the list. As the youngest of 7, born in the early 80s to an alcoholic father and absent mother, I relate to you so very much. 😂🎉

Btw I loved the nice clarification he made of coming out the gas station with the pumping pipe in the car thank and Turning the radio with the MEDITATION RECORDING and then screaming at the stranger. Not so much because of the apparent irony but rather because people usually tend to think that whoever who practices meditation should be some sort of buddhist poster with a serene and lovely smile all the time even when people spit at you and the world is burning downp!

@35:00 Googled what Shell looks like, and it’s just like he described, then also noticed he was born in 1930, and his spouse was born in 1975, mins you he died in 1999 when his wife was 24 and he was going on 70… that alone told me all I needed to know, no more rabbit hole on the Giving Tree author😂😂😂
@elisa7joy910 ай бұрын
Omg!!! So weird, cuz I always thought he looked scary, AND my mom always had a very negative opinion of him. She didn't want me to have his poetry. Even though they were kids books. She always said the art was creepy. Although... I should mention my parents were 20 years apart. 🤔 maybe she could spot one 😮

I'm not ugly crying, you're ugly crying.... hahaha!!! This was great bud. I'm such a sympathetic person, and I'm definitely damaged, but your bit was great. I'm sorry your tragedy brings such outlooks to your perspective in parenthood. But you're better for it. It can be hard to get another parent in which you raise children with see eye to eye with how to enjoy the kids we have now. I love mine. Laughing at their funny moments brings them more joy in their lifetime, than reacting in the ways our pos parents made us feel by not reacting. It IS about making them feel so much more that'll mean more in the long run... we're living proof, at least the lot of us, how some of us feel shitty as adults. You chose comedy, and I love you for sharing this with us. I appreciate ya bud, sincerely. 😎🤙😫🤣😂🤪🥰

You are super funny and you make my growing up as an aunt; one year older than my niece that is, so much not so weird😅! Thank you for sharing! Your act was awesome, your mom would be proud! My mom raised my uncle as well whos in his 60's😅 I too lost my mom. Even though it was 2015 life is never easier without her. She also was a single mom, in a time where being a single parent wasn't popular. My sister was 60 in 2020 when she passed
