Hey bud. nice overview of the rebuild. I just did my 800r and I'm interested in your view when it comes to break in. The book says to use BUDS to put the ECU in break in mode.. When I look it up online of course there are alot of different takes on it.. Some suggest initiating summerize mode a few times... Your thoughts? Thanks.

If you have access to BUDS then that would be a great choice as it riches the oil mixer until the ECU takes it out of break in mode. When I built the engine I made sure all the bearings and cylinders were pre lubed for initial start up so I don’t think I’ll be doing the summarize more. Like any 2 stroke( or rotax) break in is 500km (300 miles) or 10 hours. You can just take it easy on the throttle, avoid long WOT and modulate the throttle range. I did this with my 600 SDI and never had a problem

@@twinturbo3470 Thank you!! Just watched the rest of the videos you did on this build. Great work! We wont have snow anytime soon so I have an appointment with the dealer on dec 15th to have the ecu setup for break in mode and they also mentioned that I should have the oil injection primed and raves synced. they priced it at $135 (1 hr shop rate). Of course its tempting to just turn the key and run it but I think I'm gonna just follow the book and have them take care of the ecu..

@@cannedham3774 I asked a local Ski Doo expert about Priming the Oil with BUDS. This is what they wrote : Hey there, yes you do but if you’ve had it running it’s probably primed up. Doing it with buds just makes sure there’s oil there on initial start up. Maybe have a peek at the lines with a flashlight to see if there is oil in them. If they are dry a couple inches back then it would probably be a good idea to plug it in and prime it.

@@twinturbo3470 awesome thank you!! Yeah I talked with another dealer and they said as long as I prelubed everything and there's oil in the lines it should be fine. I already got the motor back in and started it. I did do summerize mode a few times and I've been heat cycling it for the past few days. I'm still going to bring it in and have the dealer verify the raves and TPS. Currently something is off with the idle.. It's almost like its too sensitive and its hunting for 1500 when I try to adjust it. Gonna get into the book and see what it says about that.
