I remember this singer, that is Amanda Koci [born Amanda Ava Koci Sr] (born 1964) . She was famous for her songs “Sweet but Psycho” (1983) and “So am I” (1984) . 30 years later, her daughter, Amanda Ava Koci Jr also followed her mum’s footsteps. She even covered her mum’s 80s hits in 2018 and 2019. Because she didn’t want anyone to know about her famous mum, Amanda Jr adopted “Ava Max” as her stage name, thus Ava is her middle name and “Max” came from one of her mum’s favorite 80s films “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” lol

Oh my god I remember in '83 when Russian singer Ava Marx Sr. debuted her single 'Sweet But Psycho' and it was deemed the 'Soviet Version' of Lady Gaga. Oh yes and in '86 she released that song 'Tsars & Dictators' which was a carbon copy of Lady Gaga's highly acclaimed 1979 album 'Disco Heaven'. The rivalry between those two was so heated that Lady Gaga herself went to Chernobyl power plant and blew it up!!!

Check out her episode on Behind The Music. They recorded this track in the Sherman Oaks Galleria over the course of one night after closing. The producer bribed the night watchman to let them do this but they had to be out an hour before opening. It's why that night watchman got a special thanks credit on the EP. If you visit the Sherman Oak Galleria today, there's a fountain on the spot where Ava and her crew recorded in the mall that night. It's right across from the Cheesecake Factory.

As a product of the 80's music genre. Siskel and Ebert agree.. Lovin it. 2 thumbs up

Jeffery Lyons and Neal Gabler who replaced Siskel + Ebert on Sneak Previews from 1982-1985, also agreed it's a timeless classic. 2 big yes votes.
