Do you know in 1986, GaGa recorded the Demo for Boys, but it was never released as the copyright agreement was never signed and she died in a plane crash soon after recording... But her vision was implicit regarding the song. Ultimately it was re-recorded with Sabrina using this sample. People still say what was done was unfair and it destroyed record label's reputation.

Lady Gaga was so amazing in the 80s, like when she campaigned in Washington to allow women to be able to wear swimsuits in the office. They made a compromise and said only if the woman is also wearing cut off jean shorts over the swimsuit but it's still considered a watershed moment. I really believe she would have kept heading into politics had she not gotten taken by that crocodile in the everglades in Florida. At least they were able to retrieve her torn swimsuit, apparently it's in the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando??

This song gives me chills... It was always blaring in the cafes as we stormed the streets during the workers riots of Belgrade in my home country of Yugoslavia. We were demanding action from Kosovo but always the "Boys Boys Boys" were unwilling to give up their corruption of power. It was an ecstatic time of great tension before the country fell into great crisis and I had to flee to Greece where I remain to this day. Thank you for the memory.

I remember in an old interview she said that she recorded this song, she had just had her surgery after she damaged her voice on January 28 of 1986 during the Superbowl, when she had just performed for Rain On Me and Stupid Love for the first time in 4 months, her voice sounded very different. She then released her The Cure album in the same year which also included her first ever single, Bloody Mary, which reached number 4 on the charts in 1983, the vocals after Stupid Love sounded different. She then released the album again in late 1988 to add her new singles and some new extra songs. She re-released the album again in 1993. This version of the album had her new singles, some more deluxe songs, and some new, never seen or heard of before unreleased songs that were supposed to be on the original album, but her record label didn't allow it. She released the album for the final time in January 1994, but this version only included the 9 singles for all three of the albums and was called The Cure: The Singles and was also referred to as The Hits. The original album had 9 songs, reached number 2 on the charts, and all of the songs were in the top 100 for all of the albums, the deluxe had 15 songs and reached number 2 on the charts after Rihanna's 1988 album Disturbia, and The Cure: Un-released had a total of 27 songs and reached number 1 and stayed there for for 6 weeks. I remember when my mom would tell me that this song used to be all over the radio, MTV, and Discoteques in the summer of 85’. However, in actuality, this song was a sleeper hit in the states as it was release late 83’ and became a hit all over Europe and Latin America by mid 84’. My mom would travel all over to LA from Mexico City just to rollerblade to this song at the clubs as if it was the first time she ever heard it.

My mom got to meet her back in 1984 before she was playing on the radio. They met at like a club down in LA called the Future Fiends. After that she saw her again like a year later after she was started to get really popular. When she was walking down Sunset Blvd in LA she noticed her talking to some guys outside of a venue she was playing at. My mom and her girlfriends tried to invite her out for some drinks but she was too busy that night. Apparently she was a nice person because way later that night when my mom and her friends got stuck parked out on the street, they were able to get a ride from Stefani in her Thunderbird. She just remembers her and her girlfriend saying “Thank you Stefani!“ when they got dropped off at their nearby friends house. Pretty interesting story right? Another fun fact, one of my moms friends also asked what lip color she wears and it was the color Cherish by Mac haha.
