A friend of mine had an awesome record collection special printed albums that have never seen a needle never been opened thousands of records never opened, also there was a collection of Hi-Fi stereo equipment. All of this was meant to be his nestegg for his retirement. He also worked two and three jobs so he can enjoy a decent retirement. I think he was only 55 when he died. He never got close to seeing retirement days and his family probably sold everything cheap because they didn't know what it was. Very very very sad. Perhaps it could have been avoided if he had only gone to a doctor in time.

@kjhardy32543 жыл бұрын
@@professord8888 I don't think there is anything malicious or criminal happening hear... This is just a clear sign of cognitive decline and mental health trauma. Film & Television have sadly demonized house suffering from mental health issues for decades, so we all just immediately jump to worst case scenarios when entering a house like this, when the honest story is far less sinister, but equally tragic. I 'm totally arm chair quarterbacking my thoughts here, but clearly something happened to the person living in this house, where they were buying years worth of toys but not taking basic care of their surroundings.

It's sad how families act after a death. Some want to cut ties like this Treasure trove. Other times it's straight up greed. Quick story.. I used to collect Good to Mint condition vintage Spray paint cans and little vintage pint size cans, especially the art deco paper labels.. Anyway I did work in a recent widow's home. In the basement was the Motherload. The all time Mother load. The husband had the most rare Rust-oleum & Krylon cans in mint condition all from the 60s-80s. Everything has a subculture. Off the bat I saw RARE colors that go for $500 easily. Like 1981's Icey Grape from Krylon. Guy had 3 of them. In total, I'd say there were an easy 200 cans and 50 little pints. I asked the widow off the bat. She laughed, and said it's old paint. Take them all. If you want to leave me a couple bucks go ahead. I went to my work van to start making room. I was ECSTATIC!! I come back, I was going to give her $150. She said sorry to give you bad news but my son called me to ask if you were all done yet with the job. Then I mentioned the cans. He said he is on his way to get them tonight. He needs them. I left. He needs them now? What a coincidence. He saw dollar signs. I'm sure he took them to an antique dealer who said they aren't worth anything. That I was a niche collector. And I'm sure the son probably threw it all in the garbage. He was probably pissed off. The sad part was the woman told me I was the first person in her home since her husband passed 2 yrs back. Her own son hadn't been there. But that day he was coming? Only after I showed interest

Same thing happened to me. This women had a nice ford ranger 5 speed for sale for 5k and I was wanting to buy it. It was mint, garage kept, 4x4, 2300 miles on it. She just wanted it gone. I told her I'd be back to buy it in 10 minutes. I had to go to the bank to get the money. Meanwhile her prick son comes outta nowhere and says he wants it. Who hasn't been to the home for like 4 years. I was crushed. I showed her 7500 that I was gonna give her, and she had a look of utter disgust on her face because she needed the money more than her son needed the truck. I left and done a big burnout in front of her son. I felt better a little. But not really

I could never find it online. but as I was watching this video I saw it. it's been a very long time since I've seen it but there it was in the video. at 8:45, inside the closet, there is an orange and black ramp thing on the right. there were I think two versions of this, a motorcycle one and and a race car one. you would put the cycle or car on the track. there was a ball bearing on the bottom that allowed it to speed down that track. I've always wanted to find one again just I can't remember what it was called. maybe you guys know since it pops up in this video.

I don’t know how much of this you’ve thrown out already but those home recorded vhs can have value if they have commercials on them to KZbin channels that rip old commercials and upload them.

Awesome buy. You have so many pieces of history there and some really cool old toys. I would love to see all the great stuff you acquired in that house.

Most of it will be in our shop this fall. The history and memories of this stuff is one of the reasons I love what I do.....well that and toys 😁

Who on Earth in this day and age leaves that much prime 80s toy loot just laying around?!?!
@imperialpresence33313 жыл бұрын
this guy died alone and unloved and the reason these guys are picking through his stuff is because he probably died in that house......people shouldn't value plastic over living a life....over the course of the next decade...we're going to see more of this...because those collectors/hoarders are getting older and dying

@@imperialpresence3331 I was thinking the same thing. People who never marry or have kids just die alone with no one to check on them. This guy probably was lonely and we can’t take the toys with us when we die. If he did die alone in that house I personally wouldn’t want those toys.

Your so lucky that there were no mice in that house! It all looks pretty clean, except for the dust! What a find! Congrats! 👍

This feels really off to me, just the concept of walking through someones else's memories for a dollar...Or am I wrong and this is a dealers ex haul?

Agreed it is off and the people walking around celebrating their pilfering of someone else's hobby is pretty disgusting.

@@DeckardBR09 They bought it, they didn't pilfer it. Unfortunately it looks like the previous owner passed away and the family sold off their stuff. Better these guys who will appreciate it than someone who wont.

My brother and I hid our toys behind a false wall in a closet. We kept all the boxes. It's in a house that sold 20 years ago. I bet they're still there.
