80s Toyota pickup lowering kit

Today we installed a Belltech lowering kit onto this 1985 toyota pickup. Just needs a new set of wheels and tires to complete the look!

REMINDS ME OF MY 87' TOY AS SOON AS I BOUGHT IT FROM THE USED CAR LOT I WORKED AT BACK IN THE DAY I USE THE COMPANY EQUIPMENT WASHED IT APPLIED 5 COATS OF WAX FOUND SOME LOW PROFILE 50 SERIES TIRES WRAPPED AROUND SOME UNIVERSAL KMC RIMS THREW IT ON EVERYONE THAT SAW IT THOUGHT I'D DROPPED AND HAD A FRESH COAT OF PAINT WHEELS:175R15 WASH:JUST SOAP AND WATER WAX:5 COATS OF TURTLE WAX APPLIED WITH EITHER A BED SHEET OR PILLOW CASE THEN BUFFED OUT WITH CLEAN PILLOW CASE THEN USE ADJUSTABLE SPEED BUFFER, SOLD THE TRUCK TO MOVE TO THE MAINLAND I MISS MY TOY.

This looks like a great kit but I'm not sure if it would lower that much with my long bed truck so it's already a bit lower than normal.

Miss my 1987 brand new Toyota mini truck I had deep dish rims aluminum polish with 195 /50/15 tires.. bought it red then changed it to a new color called BLACK RUBY pearl it was a king cab long bed with the 4x4 chrome grill and 4x4 front fenders everything was in chrome even the bumpers with a snug top side polished blazer windows .. it really nice but that was back when mini trucks were popular 1987 ~ 1989

Firstly l live in Australia and it is High Lux and l own a 1997 Toyota Hilux but it would not look good lowered because l have the drop side aluminium tray my Hilux is exactly the same underneath except the rear springs are much beefier for carrying heavier loads but with the hard bodied tray lowering they look good and of course l have to mention the 22R engine such a brilliant engine one of the best engines ever

Did the stock wheels rub on the spindles at all because I lowered another pickup and it forced us to get wheel spacers and I don’t wanna do that with these trucks or spend the money on new wheels and tires?

Should have mono leafed the rear end aswell so it can sit even lower

Hi! I recently bought an 88’ toyota pickup and it has a lowering kit on it. I was wondering what i would need to reverse the work done to it and remove the lowering kit. Any ideas? I don’t believe it’s a bell tech kit but it does have the lowering blocks on the rear. I know I’ll need shorter U bolts but was wondering if i would need anything else to remove the kit. TIA

The rear axle will be simple for sure! But on the front, it really depends on whether drop spindles have been installed or not.. If so, you will have to purchase new spindles. The easy way to determine the spindles is to see if they are one piece(aftermarket) or two piece(stock). Hope this helps!!

Because it was a drop spindle there was no change in camber or caster. After installing kit just take it to an alignment shop and it should just require a toe adjustment:)

I guess it could be either or :/ Best bet would be to measure it with a vernier caliper.

I am not sure. It is a custom color by a local body shop. It is a nice blue! I will try to find out for you!

Couldn’t you have skipped the spindles and turned the torsion bars…

Yes it is possible to drop it that way but it would throw the camber way out to lunch and create alot of issues with the suspension geometry.
