Who remembers flash cubes? And that Total cereal commercial advertising all those vitamins, if I remember right at least in our house, all the cereals were unsweetened and we’d dump a half a cup of sugar on it lol, also cereals use to come with a prize and we’d dump it in to a large mixing bowl or something to get the little toy lol

The Four Musketeers-i bet 3 Musketeers candy bars were the sponsors that night lol That Lucky ad shouldve ended with Doug Llewelyn saying "..and if Lucky ever rips you off, dont take matters into your own hands, you take'em to court."

I remember watching that Bing Crosby Christmas special with my parents. They both knew who David Bowie was, thanks to me and my sister, but they had no idea he could sing that well until he did that duet with Bing. My dad in particular was impressed with him.

Doug Llewelyn...who went on to be the court reporter on The People's Court during the Joe Wapner era. He's back by the way now with Marilyn Millian in the judge's seat.

This was Bing Crosby's last Christmas special. It think it was taped mid to late September, 1977 and Bing passed October 14, 1977 at age 74. Although I remember Bing's passing, I don't remember watching this show. I imagine it was a sad show to watch for people like my grandfather who enjoyed Bing's music.

For half a second I was like, 'ooo instant pictures - in color,' but then I realized I was watching this on my phone. I'm not even old enough to remember color being an issue. 🤣
First Polaroid voiceover is James "Rockford Files" Garner.

1:48--I have to admit that I've never understood the concept behind Total cereal. What's the point of getting 100% of your daily vitamins and minerals at breakfast, unless you plan to starve yourself for the rest of the day? I believe Kellogg's sold a similar cereal at the time; I think it was called Product 19. 3:48--Wow, Benny Goodman! I didn't realize he was still with us in 1977; then I looked him up on Google and saw that he died in 1986. 4:48--The camera may have been hidden in the Tide commercial, but I have a hard time believing the subject didn't know she was doing a TV commercial. Wouldn't they need to get her permission? 6:49--The bumpers indicate that Polaroid and Scope were the primary sponsors of this program. Interestingly, this volume includes several Polaroid commercials but only this one for Scope.

I'm from Iowa. There are fewer volumes from the 1970's but over 800 from the 80's, so I'm hoping to find a few from Iowa stations!

I always loved Bing before I discovered David Bowie, way, before! He was dead around that time, though..RIP 1900s-1977.
