0:05 - One of the all time great Christmas commercials from my youth. That soft singing instantly takes me back.

1:42 - If an employee never yelled “Yo, Joe” during their shift, they were doing their job wrong…

@3:07 That dude is a big-time actor now! Man, all these kids as old as I am now, probably with teenage kids themselves now, wow!

11:19 - While these kids were down in their basement playing with Fisher Price Pool, their friends were probably gathered around games of Street Fighter II or Super Mario Kart.

Anyone know what those green and red cookies in the Safeway commercial are? I haven't had them in decades, I forgot they existed.

"Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" aired on KATU on 12/23/90 at 2 PM between "Little Drummer Boy" and "Scrooge" (1970) and on 12/25/90 at 5:30 PM between the 5 PM news and "The Snowman".

Judging by the ads here (including the Pre-Christmas Sale at 8:14) I think these had to have aired before Christmas and not the day of. Thanks!

Luvs- “No balloons were harmed in the making of this commercial. The balloon was replaced, refilled with water , and got a new diaper to wear. It’s as happy as a clam, to this day.” Hershey’s Chocolate Drink- Your comment on this describes what the “Yoo-hoo Chocolate Drink” is perfectly. 29. Shell- The background music being played in this commercial sounds like the song, “The Way It Is” By Bruce Hornsby And The Range.

apparently that department store had no clue they were named after a cartoon show for childrens lol

The store started in 1952. It predates the original G.I. Joe action figure by around a decade and the 1980's cartoon by several decades. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe%27s The term "G.I. Joe" goes back to WWII and was the title of a movie: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_G.I._Joe

Burger King Kids Club newsletter? What could possibly be in that?

It was basically a two-page comic book filled with stuff like crosswords and word searches and small articles. I remember reading it when my dad would take me to eat inside BK back then. There are a few of them on ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/373030575519

Today I learned there was a sort of sequel to A Charlie Brown Christmas! Although this was a series of shorter vignettes this time around. I did not like the new CBS Special Presentation around this time! Same with how the TMNT animated series became less funny and more dark near the end of its run on CBS. Swore me off the show for good!
