Dr. Clark taught is the necessary distinction between knowledge and belief. We can know only a limited amount of important propositions. But we are warranted to believe a large number of things. That is the opposite of much contemporary thinking. I am guessing that your category of perception would fall within Clark’s category of warranted belief. Things that are useful fiction, useful falsehoods.
