I’ve had my 83G4 for just over a week now and it’s the best tv I’ve owned. I’ve had multiple LG oleds and the a90j and so far the G4 blows them all away. The a90j was a great set but I couldn’t handle the dimming while gaming when playing a game with any kind of HUD display. The MLA panel gets crazy bright and the overshoot problems I had on the g3 are not present on the G4.

Get the LG G4, it's the best TV you can get in 2024. However I'm getting the Sony Bravia 9, it's the best LCD TV in 2024 and I don't have to worry about burn-in and ABL. My LG C9 has burnt pixels all over the edges of the screen and the screen always dims when it gets bright, I can't take it.

Depends on usage I have e9 used 8h a day for past 5 years and no burn in, no lost pixels. But I don’t game on it. Abl with new OLEDs is not a thing anymore. Burn in rate is unknown. But I stream - so no static content on the screen

I just got the 83 G4 last week. I upgraded from a 77 CX. It is shockingly, mind-blowingly good. I had plenty of doubts after placing the order, but after getting it, would say it’s my best tech purchase in a looong time. I think OLED is very special. That’s all I can say! 🤜 best wishes on your decision.

@@tylerstirling2843 frankly, it’s difficult to pick one thing since it’s vast improvement in every way across the board. The picture almost doesn’t seem comparable. Unbelievable brightness-the brightness is real, like it can almost be too bright at night. I’ve seriously squinted at sunlight scenes. 🤣 Color brightness is also a whole other level. It’s vivid, super rich. Much much more detail as well, in every area, even bright highlights. Motion processing which I never loved on the CX feels drastically better. Gaming almost feels completely different since it is so much brighter, with more color richness and detail. All with the silky blacks and smooth OLED picture. Updated OS is nice too, nice features and very snappy menus. It also looks super premium compared to my CX. I just ended up wayyy more impressed than I expected or dared to hope. I was worried I might end up disappointed, but I am blown away by it. Even my girl who doesn’t care about technology is shocked by the picture quality. Hope that helps!

To put things into perspective, an 83in TV is ~16% more area than 77in. Think you have to go 83 G4 once it hits Best Buy. Best 83 OLED yet & zero blooming compared to Bravia. Until we see 83 QD OLED, this will be the big TV king. Me, I’m a value king & that S89C/S90C sale that just ended was no joke. Got the 77 S90C delivered & mounted today. $1310 for open box excellent pre-tax after incentives. Snagged a 5yr warranty w/ $ saved. Used Classy’s settings & service menu tweaks. Absolutely in love. Have zero issues holding onto this for a long time until a similar, epic sale hits like this years from now on superior tech.

For me to get that impact, the room needs to fairly dark to stop raised blacks from ambient light.

I don't get any of this, about the bravia 9. The a95l will still be their best tv. If you want to compare the qn900d vs bravia 9, I'd understand..but it's not going to be in the same league as the g4
@AllAboutTKK
@AllAboutTKK 4 ай бұрын
QN900D is a ruse. Its an 8k panel, I have nothing on this planet that can take full advantage of 8k, maybe in about 5 years we will be there but that is still very much so a future proof concept in my honest opinion. Everyone that has got an 8k tv has already had it outdated by newer models, every year seems to tell the same tale and I would rather not venture down that rabbit hole. Its simple. I’m looking for the largest upper echelon tv I can get that will also fight reflections as S95D has shown me I would like to rid myself of, in my main movie area where I watch tv I don’t absolutely have to have an OLED for reasons just mentioned, and I’m also into trying innovative but tried and true technology, the Bravia 9 seems very promising, it doesn’t get dismissed immediately just because it’s an LED, not in my mind at least. Not in the same league? I disagree.
@Cblan1224

@AllAboutTKK I'm no samsung fan but upscaling from 4k to 8k is much more efficient than just adding sharpness. I don't care about 8k content, or previous 8k tvs, but I am glad samsung actually found out what we want from 8k..which is just the upscaling. For gaming, it is free anti aliasing to run a game at 4k and havr the display upscale it to 8k. Or you can use 240hz at 4k. All these things can be described as real features, whether you want them in your living room or not. If I'm going to downgrade, significantly, there better be a big reason..like size..or 8k. My CX was a mirror. With the G4 I have zero reflections. It's reflection handling is incredible. I've heard people(that were flown out to this event) that still preferred the bravia 8, because it's an oled. I don't know why we would assume that sony has made the largest technological leap in history, before looking at any measurements. Whether or not you disagree, a qd oled is the only display that will come close to the g4, but the g4 is so far ahead of anything I've laid eyes on... the rtings review makes it seem like a small upgrade to the g3, but anyone who looks at it can tell just how special it is

What's up from the D! I am going to purchase the 77-inch G4, of course on Black Friday. I think you should go with the G4. One thing to consider is that it uses a VA panel so viewing angles will be inferior to OLED and the contrast of an LED will not be able to compete with OLED. Whatever route you decide to go we will be waiting for your review of whichever one you choose.

As a suggestion as to how you can imagine bravia 9. I believe and am almost certain that Bravia 9 has the same panel as the tcl c855. The performance is pretty similar to Bravia 9. Also works with dimming zones that Sony specifies. You can find some videos of the C855 on the internet. A rewiever from Spain, has an unboxing and first impression of the c855.

The thing is, I don’t know if the G4 can really keep up or absolutely destroy the A95L, that’s still out and for debate. So my situation here is do I spend $1000 more for something that is 5” better slightly or the same equal to my A95L or do I spend less and get something that trades blows that is larger. @@AllAboutTKKmy two cents. None of these displays destroys another one. A95L last year didn’t destroy G3 nor S95C. It’s all marginal differences. Unless you dislike to the point of hate, something particularly on A95L - stay with it. 6” won’t make much difference you can buy extendable electronic arm that could move display a foot forward and bang you have same FOV as 85” for much less

I feel like the professional TV reviewers look at reflection, or anti-reflection dependent on how you look at it, the wrong way. When they say a TV is bright enough to overcome a bright room, that means, imo, nothing. When the content is bright even my 11 year old LCD is bright enough that reflections don't matter. BUT, when the content is dark(night time maps on a lot of games, Darker movies etc) is when I need not to be distracted by the windows/door behind me. Still interested in the Bravia 9 but I fear it will handle that about the same as everyone else aside from the S95D. You did however give me another video to watch over on Classy's channel though. This might be a no brainer for a person that did not buy s95c and a95L last year but, I did. What I’m looking for is a tad different than the average booker bro. Thanks for the comment.

Sony B9 for me over the LG G4. Both technologies have their ups and downs, + and - with each other and it depends on what is more important to you. G-Sync/VRR flickering on LG OLED TVs is a no goer for me. People going on about the milliseconds input lag for gaming is irrelevant these days because extra millisecond lag is always introduced to an OLED & Mini LED with consoles and controllers communicating with the TV which will always increase lag times even with advertised OLED low response times so don't be fooled by that. Both technologies have low enough acceptable input response times for gaming these days especially at the top of the line with both panel technologies. You are NOT getting the advertised low TV millisecond lag time because of everything else connected to the TV won't allow it & the devices connected to the TV will always makes lag times higher, sometimes much higher in reality than what's advertised in the OLED. The Bravia 9 also now has Sony’s new 2nd Generation of XR processor and the new XR master back light drive tech for its mini led this year which uses reference mastering tuning (studio calibrated), right in line with their brand new 4000nit Sony BVM-HX3110 pro-grade mastering monitor which replaces the 1000nit older 310 professional grade monitor, the same monitor chosen in the grading of Hollywood movies before we see them, which is also a Sony & the HX3110 professional Sony mastering monitor increases its peak brightness now to a mighty 4,000 nits from 1000nits on the older reference 310 monitor it replaces & which is the catalyst for the B9 with the tuning & tech inside of it, which I have been told is very close to the new HX3110 pro grade mastering monitor. Sony points to five key improvements the HX3110 brings over its HX310 LCD mastering monitor predecessor -. They are: Higher brightness, faster pixel response, a new IP interface, wider viewing angle support, and improved suppression of reflections. All of which will come over for the first time to the new Bravia 9 for the consumer from their pro grade mastering monitor. Blacks & whites are closer than ever I hear on the B9 compared to OLEDs with next to no blooming on the new Sony B9's. That gap is getting so close now. We will see soon. Both TV's will be very nice though & I am guessing you can't go wrong with either TV. Good video. 🙂

@@AllAboutTKK yep, a DC transplant, but may go back. But then the cold and taxes. I have the 77 G4 on Order, thinking about cancelling I don't think it's worth the hassle for an incremental upgrade over the S90c. But I still have a chunk of change from when I returned the A95l for the S90C

I think you'll be happy with the LG G4 83". I recently upgraded from my LG C1 77" to the S90C 83", and I absolutely love it. I wanted the LG G4 83", but I couldn't see myself dropping $5K-$6K on it so I would've had to wait for massive discounts. During the recent Samsung sale, I was able to get the S90C 83" for

@AllAboutTKK For me it's the low latency, MLA, newer processor, 4x HDMI, true blacks with heavy emphasis on gaming features that make it stand out. Until a new oled comes along I feel this is getting towards the late game oled variants we will see until micro led becomes a household product. Mini LED, is nothing new and to get the most out of the B9 will requite custom content being optimised for it, such as Amazon streaming. But for gaming, why?
