Thank you very much for this great conversation. As an European student of the Course, I'm very exited about Marianne Williamson running for president. In my view politics and spirituality don't need to exclude each other at all. Just look at people like Gandhi, the Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King jr. They all practiced politics, inspired by their own spiritual tradition. Marianne's book 'A politics of love' is very inspiring and I recommend it to all Course students.

It was also powerful that Marianne replied to Karine with the statement that she's advocating for Medicare for all, and workers, so who can be said to be more practical?

What I like about Maryanne, is that she explains things so well, and so quickly. When I worked in a prison, I was surprised that many of the workers knew so little about what was really going on. The bottom line for most, was how much (even a little), more money they could get, and keep, in their pockets, and whether they could keep their guns. I was treated like an outsider because I didn't have one. I even explained to them how it would attract violence to me if I anticipated it. They wanted no gun laws, and I was like, " well I want to drive a car, so there should be no road rules, speed limits, etc." Again, those that were raised with guns and if their heads are on straight, it wouldn't be bad to have one, skilled person help stop a mad person from random killing. It's all a matter of perspective, or whether it's your kid, etc. I think listening to her podcasts would be very educational for the younger generations, who have been raised by technology. They desperately need a human understanding, of life and the world. Keeping them in the dark would be a mortal sin in the catholic church! Just kidding, but I do think it's not a laughing, or even smiling, matter. Thank you for this pod cast!

Thank you for this podcast. I am still processing it. As an european student over 12 years, I myself started having a political interest for 4 years now. I have at times been struggeling with thoughts like: why am I doing this? Does it matter? Is it needed? Why me? But everytime I ask HS, Should I continue? The answer is: YES, and when I ask: "Why"? The answer is: "this is your role to play. Just remember to practise forgiveness in the process". I am very exited that Marianne runs for candidate and I support her all the way. It is a significant move in the time and space realm. Anyone who dont approve on her candicy have a perfect 'Forgiveness opportunity'. I am all in for anyone stepping up, bringing the actions of love to a crowd of brothers and sisters who yearn for a miracle. The Course ask us to go out and give peace and love through LOVING RELATIONS and LOVING ACTIONS. I think MW do both. Do what you are called to do, and fullfill your function at the same time. To hold back bringing better lifeconditions for others, if called to do sp, is not loving at all. Be TRULY HELPFULL in anyway you can. MW is standing up for what she believes will bring joy, peace and safety to many. Whats not to like. She might not win the race, but her courage and determination will create loving ripples to be noticed. ❤

I’m 100% Marianne at the moment. I think if she truly wants to win she needs to bring up more conversations surrounding the people/groups she plans to support bring awareness to the issues that she sees aslong as she continues to March with people I think people will slowly follow her lead the ball is in her court at the moment i wonder is she really gonna do the work to communicate with certain minoritys/issues in this country if she starts to hit America in it’s weak spots she will 100% gain traction . "Spirituality hasn't touched the realm of politics" (Emily). Not so. Marianne herself repeatedly gives the history that it has, from Gandhi, to MLK JR, the Suffragettes, Civil Rights movements. In my own book on MW's Presidential Phenomenon (publ. in 2021), this grand sweep of 50 movements is documented therein, many which are spiritual, that MW has been funnelling into her holistic leadership.

She was recently interviewed in Politics Done Right with Egberto Willis. She stated what is most apparent to her is to bring an awareness that is not being talked about. No matter what happens or how her base does or doesn’t grow that she has a platform to bring that to the forefront of the conversation. She is very relatable however in the form of a woman and one that has a strong personality and very forthright she brings our moral center as stated. She is unique and truly resonates. However her ideas are very radical and might consider the ideas in a form of transitioning with policies of free college and universal healthcare etc can not win but a compromise and in stages it can be somewhat implemented

Emily is 'right on' as I agree, I'd like to hear more from MW of that looking you in the eye and saying (more or less) "Love will defeat fear" (and hate). Interestingly, and something I am critical of somewhat in her 2024 campaign and even before she threw her hat in the race this year, I noticed her interviews and especially the political ones, and in her ongoing political interviews and speeches (like her launch speech), she has considerably cut back on use of the "love" and "fear" contrasting language, and often doesn't use "fear" at all, much to my chagrin as a fearologist. Is this her conscious strategy? What has changed in her and the world since 2020 run? I wonder, and I am concerned she may even be unconsciously not talking near as much about fear now (and the metaphysics of the Love vs. Fear dynamic). I note even Emily and Robert focus on "hate" (a symptom only of a deeper fear). Let's not be distracted by hatred. As you both said, FDR's "Four Freedoms" ("freedom from fear" is foundational to the others, arguably).

It's a big moment for a course, Mabey, but we shouldn't push it as us against them, thus black balling the very idea! I worked in a prison and was in a similar paradox, and you really have to go within and pull from your soul. It's not easy by any means and we should be just supportive! They would take it as " Us against them", so in that way, keeping spirituality, as shape shifted into political and moral issues, which it has, is best strategy!

Thanks for this. I'm trying to reconcile the idea of 'projection makes perception' in A Course in Miracles, and looking upon political systems and processes as corrupt and needing to be changed. Given that we are in a dream, is it even worth it to try to engage with that perceived corruption or just forgive it? At what point is 'forgiving' no longer enough, such that we then wade in to try to 'fix' things? Grateful for any thoughts. Best

Do those of TCIM community who are not in support of what MW is doing make choices to improve their own lives? A loving partner, supportive friends, satisfying employment, better housing, wages or self care? Isn’t this exactly what MW is doing but in a smaller scale? Marianne Williamson is working to manifest the macrocosm of each individual’s microcosm. If this is a betrayal of Course Work, then shouldn’t all who follow this path renounce their jobs, homes and strive more to simply see the world differently? Agreed, it’s all illusion, and yet how many of you actively seek improvement of your own here/now physical/time/space reality? Bravo MW for expanding her vision beyond one’s own little bubble. Marianne Williamson for President 2024!

Williamson is more needed working on a social-political movement, rather than be a candidate. Sanders said during the debates that a massive movement was needed for progressive policies to get enacted. No one, not even Sanders to my knowledge, has said much about that reality since. Williamson seems the perfect person for such a movement, but here again, she is focused on politics. The Left uses all this idealistic rhetoric, but none of it is ever directed at the people. We can call for Medicare for all, a 'Green New Deal', free college tuition, and even the abolishment of prisons, yet no one has asked the people to give themselves a 'domestic peace dividend' Where is all the money going to come from, to fund all that we need and are asking for, along with rebuild the infrastructure and rebuild from the increasing number and level of destruction of storms and other natural disasters? If we are going to be idealistic why half-heartedly do it now, when it is more needed than ever?
@MsKingwa

Aha...... I think I can see how people might not take her seriously, despite her best intentions. The majority of people's problems are on the physical level, survival level. Spirituality, could be said to be at the level of self-actualization. People look up and rally around political figures that appear invested in resolving their 'basic needs' struggles. Spirituality is one way of going about this because using the right spiritual principles, one can achieve material success for themselves. But this would be too big a leap for the majority who are simply fighting to get by day by day, fighting to pay their rent, feed their kids, etc.

What are the fruits of Williamson's work as a humanist/spiritualist? How can work of this kind be effective, if it is just random/isolated? Has it brought about any measurable change for the better to society than has Hip-Hip, which in this its 50-year anniversary is saying it changed the world? Hip- Hop may have changed the world, but it didn't change the communities it was created in, and so didn't improve the lives of the people living in that same kind of community. Black activists say structured and systemic racism is the root cause of all our problems. If that is true, our response to it would have to at the least be highly coordinated. The same applies to any ideology, movement or belief, if its goal is social change. The Left as a whole ask little to nothing from the people. This is one prerequisite that we have not met, and that first has to change before there is a chance of the ultimate change occurring. When asked about love Williamson said "we need to honest the better angels of our nature. Someone surely needs to help us Black people understand this. In the mist of proclaiming to the world that our lives matter, many of those who speak publicly as if they represent all or the majority of us, have the dismissive/indifferent attitude that Black on Black crime is "not a thing'. Now all of a sudden in the mist of calling foe other being to be more proactive for our benefit (be anti-racist), we shirk our responsibility to value our own lives. We are now accepting of the high rate of homicide and the increasing heinousness of the killings (children, women, and elderly have for some time now increasingly been victims), while we loudly and consistently condemn unjust killings of us by police and racist individuals. If we have allies in our struggle, they should not allow us to do this. It can only make the overall goals of change harder to reach. We are not asking for a miracle from our people - just what should be a norm. I would welcome anyone who believes in miracles to pray for one for us. Anything short of a miracle would be a big help.

There is confusion about the meaning of special agents and the world. Since there is no world in form, space & time & only in the Kingdom, it intuits to me that we need to recognized that only the True world exists & to rescue the real world by not blocking the Kingdom ( True world). The belief that there is lack of love in a world & somehow need to act in a body with its own willingness keeps us in a state of lack. The body always wants to bargain to get a specific form that we lead to a certain result. Impossible when time doesn’t exist. There are no bodies but God’s creations in the state of the Mindfulness of God, our Source. ACIM principle says that love is forgiveness which is only useful as a way shower to love. God uses the Holy Spirit through the vehicle of bodies which appears that healing agents outside of us ( special is the one distinction that is True) will heal our sleeping Minds. This has nothing to do with the images of bodies & stories about those bodies. These ego thoughts are a barrier to the True one thought that we are as God created us.
@MsKingwa
@MsKingwa Жыл бұрын
The story in my mind is that there is a lack of love, I then try to be and plant love. Your comment has got me thinking however, about how a mindset such as this could keep one in a state of lack. The question then would be, what is the healthier story/ worldview/ mindset to adopt? Because the worldview we carry spurs emotion that then gives us energy to go out and 'do our thing' in the world. So, what is the healthier alternative to looking at life in this way?
