It’s a great car for 50-60k, at 84K u should go for a GLS550, Land Cruiser, or go higher to an LX. 84K is too much for this plastic tub
@frankmagana14086 жыл бұрын
Ronit Setia look, im not a big fan of fords either, i like my cars to work after the warranty is done. But callig this thing a plastic tub while saying the land cruiser is a great buy at $84k is stupid. The land cruiser has the same build quality as a camry. Hell, mirror switches, windows switches, door handles are taken from cheaper vehicles that where already sub par in their catagories. And yes, the infamous cruise control stalk that you can find in a 2003 corolla is the same one in a brand new land cruiser. Toyota is the kind of cheap interiors. The only people who could compete with them were mid 2000’s chrysler cars

Since this shares a lot with the F150, I bet it probably uses the same 13.8" brake rotors the F150 does, they could be bigger but I'm sure they will work just fine for this weight of vehicle. They probably look tiny due to the huge 22" wheels that are on it.

Tahoes and Suburbans are the king of that class of Truck end of story .Ford lost me forever with what they did with their diesel engines since 2001 junk!!!!! the V6 turbo charged engine all joking aside does seem like it may be a good motor at least performance-wise I still question longevity.

The Camaro ZL1 (a performance vehicle which shouldn't need a fake sound) is a prime example of it.

Also, just because you claim that economy is bad doesn't mean no one can afford to buy these trucks. The sales figures beg to differ.

Ford is still the number one selling Automaker in the United States. On top of that do you not realize that this is one of the trim and length options. You can still buy this same model for much much less. Ford knows what it's doing and it will sell most of the top end models. Do you not think that a Billion dollar auto company does not do it's research first. They know exactly what the market wants. That is why they have these high-end versions. Also, you can't buy a new Hellcat for less because even though the sticker price advertised, supply and demand factor and everybody wants one so the dealers can mark the Demon up and still stell them. You make it seem like everyone is struggling. Plenty of people are doing just fine. I think you let the media brainwash you into thinking we're going through a great depression.

Potential buyer here. (Family of 6 and a Newfie...plus we tow a lot.) Currently own '15 Denali Yukon XL ( I hate it for a lot of reasons), a '02 Ford Excursion ( LOVE IT!) and Toyota Sequoia (nice, but too small for long trips with the dog/cargo.) Owned a '04 Excursion (Diesel) and LOVED THAT and hate that we sold it! Owned a Toyota Landcruiser a few years back, which was awesome but way too small for our family. This is as close as I'll get to another Excursion (unless we have one custom built.) I hate that it looks like a car. I wish it was more truck like, but I realize most "moms" aren't into that. I keep hoping that they'll bring the Excursion back. We got/get so much use out of those vehicles! Oh well...a girl can dream. ;)

hoho The new Jeep Wagoneer (Which was a little similar to the Bronco back in the day) or Grand Wagoneer will probably cost a little more since the most expensive Jeep Grand Cherokee (Trackhawk 707 HP) already starts at around $86,000, and the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneers are aiming to be Luxury Full Size SUV's which will hopefully come with off-roadability.

Good video. It is a Great SUV but I think they're too expensive. But look at Suburbans they have probably been that much for years. I saw a 2017 suburban for $83,000. For people commenting on the price, it is that high for the same reason you can buy a brand new well equipped Focus for less than a 5 year old Fusion, the New EPA CAFE regulations. Manufacturers are legally required to keep trucks below a certain percentage of new vehicle sales so they respond by turning them all into luxury vehicles resulting in the Expedition and Tahoe being every bit as nice as the Navigator and Escalade.

As always your videos are most impressive Mike! I commented that I like the navigator, better. But after this video, if I had $80,000 2 blow. I would try the expedition, as a lease. To see if I would like it on the highway road. Twenty 2 wheels are sharp!

I always dreamed of a "go wherever I please" cross country road trip in a car that is well equipped and fairly luxurious and still has enough space in the back to put a camping matress in there and sleep if I'd happen to not find a trustworthy motel or hotel. You know, the idea is that the car can function as kind of a makeshift, emergency RV, but without being an actual RV and while still being small enough to use normal parking spaces and have more agility than a RV would have. This seems like pretty much the perfect car for that.
@truckercowboyed26385 жыл бұрын
U know camping and luxury dont really go together. Camping is about ruggedness and bare minimum living. If u want luxury camping stay at the holiday inn lol and swimming pool.
@TrangleC5 жыл бұрын
@@truckercowboyed2638 I don't know where you got the idea that I was talking about a camping trip from. I pretty clearly said I want to make a road trip and just have the ability to, in a pinch, sleep comfortably in the car, if I don't find a hotel or motel.

@@truckercowboyed2638 I guess. Irony, satire and sarcasm don't transfer well in KZbin comments, where all kinds of people are saying crazy stuff and actually mean it. Let me ask you, do you still get messages when someone replies to your comments, or did you notice by pure chance that I answered your comment after 3 months? That would be a crazy coincidence. I'm asking because I don't get such messages. I once did, but haven't for about a year or so. I only noticed your comment by chance, 3 months after you made it, because I was semi-randomly going through my old comments out of boredom. I only get messages sometimes, when someone "thumbs-up" one of my old comments, but not even that is reliable. Sometimes I get a message, sometimes I don't, but I never get one for an reply to one of my comments.

Guys don’t forget the $84k price tag is MSRP. Ask yourself (outside of the GT or GT350’s) the last time anyone has paid MSRP for a Ford? Get dealer financing on a new vehicle, knock off $10k. Catch an end of the month sale take off another $5k. So now we are talking a sub $70k loaded up top tier Expedition, which easily bests anything else in that price range. Don’t get me wrong, I am broke just like the next person and don’t have that kind of money. But I’ll gladly let you buy it first and eat the depreciation in which case I’ll take it off your hands four years from now at a fraction of the price....
@brandonarrington82206 жыл бұрын
Why is this getting so much hate. It’s a top of the line Ford for a family person who wants room and low repair costs because it’s not a luxury brand that requires dealership maintenance. I think this car is nice as hell and worth it.

A few inaccuracies in your review: 400hp engine output is exclusive to the Platinum trim, regardless of what fuel type you put in (87 or 93). 375hp engine output is standard on all lesser trims. Massaging seats are not available on the Expedition. Only on the new Navigator, where they're optional equipment.

never liked ford so this is crazy. Give me a loaded tahoe, hell a cadillac. Give me those ugly ass lincolns that ford make, atleast they can somewhat hold value (for whatever reason). Go get a lexus or any equivalent and be happier. This car will be some teenagers first suv in a decade.

Zac Carter and how much can that Lexus tow? I definitely wouldn’t be happy.
@zaccarter38016 жыл бұрын
Dave Bliley cut the difference and get a Tahoe for 15k less and same features. I assure you with its ecoboost v6 there are plenty of options that offer the same features and less cost. Or even the same cost but better features.
@davebliley53616 жыл бұрын
I checked out a loaded suburban and it was 78k. I do however prefer the v8 in the GM. Also this is the top of the line expedition. They can definitely be had for less.
@zaccarter38016 жыл бұрын
Dave Bliley hmm. Never knew the Tahoe went up that much. I saw 60k before but maybe that didn't have all the options. Regardless I agree. Maybe mid 60k for this expedition but I just can't get behind these vehicle types. I guess large family and towing but other than that just so inefficient. I'd prefer a large cabin truck. The price of this expedition is nearing the 350r and atleast that car looks the price. This is just a glossy tank.
@davebliley53616 жыл бұрын
Don’t get me started on the trucks. They are getting expensive also. Buddy just bought 17 f150 extended cab (smaller rear doors swing back) 4wd some nice features, no leather and it hit 47k. Guess it is what it is.
