I’ve used the red (maroon) color it’s safe on aluminum. Never green too aggressive (coarser)

I try and use a combination of wire wheel, scraper tool (gently) and sometimes a very fine disc if needed. Have to try not to remachine the surface when possible.

The Hemis have a stamped steel housing. I think they all do, not sure though.

So not so fun story. neighbor calls me can you help me with this gasket on my 2011 GMC Denali AWD oil cooler housing. I get there he’s got front end up on ramps . So I crawled under helped him remove front drive shaft to gain access. Well apparently things really have changed from the old days . The truck rolled down on us and bruised chest and ribs later . In my day the transmission locked transfer case and back drive shaft. Apparently not anymore. What you don’t know can kill you 🙁
