843 Bobcat; Tilt Cylinder Repair

In this video I attempt to repair the tilt cylinder on an 843 Bobcat. The unit quickly drifts / leaks off and lowers heavy loads. It is especially noticeable when lifting heavy objects with the fork attachment. I make few mistakes and find a few scary things along the way. I also get a chance to test fit the boom pole and do a rough capacity check.

Wow, I wish had your video a couple of years ago. I brought in all three cylinders for my 843 for $900. It was no picnic taking them off, but perfect now. Did you find a real shop manual for Ole 843 or the hard to read PDF’s? Thanks again

Thanks Jim! I think removing the cylinders might be harder than replacing the seals, but it does require some specialty tools. I only have a pdf version of the manual. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

Andy, if a bucket is held under the cylinder to capture the fluid, couldn't you still just leave the cylinder extended to avoid having to pry it down? As opposed to draining it from the hoses. I'm doing this on a 773 tomorrow.

It's messy every time I get into hydraulics. Yes, you can leave the cylinder extended. The thought process is when it's retracted less fluid is in the cylinder because the rod consumes space. I get it all over no matter what I do..... Oil dry and pig mat are my friends. Thanks for watching and good luck on the repair! 👍😁

Hi, can you explain to me how the coolant cooler is fixed? Only rear with hondles from above or is it also screwed somewhere from below? Thank you im advance

Hello! If you watch some of the other videos of the 843 on my channel it shows the installation of the oil cooler and radiator. I believe it's the one labeled engine install. I used shorter bolts that are different from the factory bolts. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
