Hi Luke. I believe the thick brown sticky gooey thing in the bottom of the metal drum was the sauce of roasted pork (or "char Siu" in Cantonese). It's mainly malt syrup, honey, soya sauce and the fat dripping from the pork belly.

luke,a duck is better than a bed bug, isn' t it, Luke. this was a really great success with your ramble chat. I appreciate your honest approach to talk about your teenage times, Japanese experiences and yout present life. So much useful vocabulary. Above all things, let me congratulate on having a baby .I understand your worries about trusting him to other people.however, this proves that you are not only an excellent teacher but also a caring parent.

Luke, Thank you very much for the episode. Your ramblings are always the top. I really like the way you throw at Lepsters new, useful and advanced English words to have under the belt, every single episode. Once in my teenage, l got badly intoxicated by a roasted duck. I might have kicked the bucket but l didn't. My best wishes, See you on the podcastle. PS. In less than two hours England start off for the semi-final, Fiji are very tough though. Fingers crossed.
