I don't know why, but watching the chef take that little corner of Wagyu and also cooking it made me feel really good. It was like he knew the customer probably wouldn't care about that little sliver of Wagyu not being there, but instead he still cooked it because he didn't want to waste it.

RM 300 for a meal is expensive in this country tho . The exchange rate make it cheaper for you . For example, the RM 1500 minimum wage in malaysia makes the meal cost bottom 40% malaysian close to a quarter of their monthly salary . Sad I know .😌

As a Malaysian, I can confirm the food and skills of chefs are exceptional, but I can also confirm that the quality and the salesmen/managers here are almost 100% trash. Since the worth of RM is going down and prices and debts and loans are going up, the people can only try to cut corners whenever possible. Don't find it weird if you ever get food poisoning in Malaysia.

yknow, having worked in teppanyaki its so interesting to see the sheer variety of grills, chef techniques, and even methods of serving like in this video, the fact that the customers get a selection of different cuts from what i'd assume is the same slab of beef before steak slicing. the place i work at doesnt do this simply because we have a weight range for each of our items. anything that ends up below or above the range gets used as the nightly kitchen dinner (essentially at the end of each night our main cooks decide what trimmings we will eat on that night, often we get mostly standard chicken/beef trimmings, but our wagyu trimmings get used as the fat portion of any ground beef we use, and if we have any broken seafood like shrimp that got torn in half or other such things, then we can use that for dinner too
@charadreemurr10832 жыл бұрын
also second note as i got further into the video i do not like this chefs (LACK) of grill cleanliness. dude just leaves chicken scraps to burn and make the grill cleaners life that much less enjoyable

I live in Pennsylvania in the US. We call those types of restaurants: Hibachi Restaurants But other than that it’s very similar. The set menus here are typically your choice of meat, fish or seafood - egg fried rice, sautéed mushrooms & onions, 2 shrimp and a side salad or soup. They have À la cart menu options as well, and usually a sushi menu as well. A lot of them have a sushi bar in the restaurant so you can either sit in there & just have sushi or you can order sushi while having hibachi. They are my favorite types of restaurants, so I absolutely love this video! ✌🏻💕😊
@QuackityIsSexy2 жыл бұрын
in america we call teppanyakis by hibachi because we thought they were the same thing (even tho they are not) hibachi = small grill with charcoal teppanyaki = flat iron grill maybe cause hibachi is easier to say for americans, who knows
