When you think of future Hall of Fame hockey players from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon pop to top of mind, But last fall another Cole Harbour resident was inducted into the 80+ Oldtimers Hockey Hall of Fame in Gatineau, Quebec. 85 year old Ross Keeping played competitive senior hockey during his younger days but now continues to play and has spent the past 20 winters with the Cole Harbour Hot Wings, playing 3 times a week in the same facility that Crosby and MacKinnon began their careers. John Moore caught up with Keeping this week at the team's final skate of the season as well as Keeping's manager (wife) Linda and team GM, Don Carter. Keeping has no intent onstopping and will be on Team Canada roster when they face Team USA in an annual competition in the upcoming year.
