Just started work on an ‘89-when I saw your playlist I made sure it was the 2nd one I watched. Inasmuch as mine currently has no engine, I breathed a sigh of relief. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Well, damn. This was awhile ago but new to me... welcome to the club. Sounds like my life. I've got an 84 nautique for free. I know it has a good engine, because I helped install it from the crate... 12 years ago. Since? It run maybe 2 hours. BUT... buddy moved out of state, left it to me. Came over to get it and no one pulled the plug. It was full to the transom with water. We'll see what happens this winter!

🫣 noooo. Good luck with that. I’ve had terrible luck with this engine.

Oh man! I subscribed a while back because I’m close to embarking on a Nautique journey soon. I’m in northern Indiana. Glad you found the leak!

such a bummer. we recently moved to Indy and N3 Boatworks is close and as much as the new stuff is great, the 80's ski boats are peak lake boat for me. love the channel and best of luck bringing this one back - you've got your work cutout...again.

Man o man! You can definitely take a lickin and keep on tickin! Being able to keep a positive attitude and not scream every obscenity know to man is quiet commendable! I can’t wait to see this one finished to the end. We’re putting our “new” 84 model, that looks almost identical to yours, in the water for the first time tomorrow morning. We can’t wait!!!

Oh, we’re not out of the woods yet. Just stay tuned.

How did your boat run?
@anitakellis2 жыл бұрын
@@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain it ran great, thank goodness! It about beat us to death though. We’ve been used to pontoons for the past 20 years, so the ski boat is a completely different experience, but still great!

The small holes in the square drive set screws that hold the prop shaft is for safety wire to prevent what happened. The “runners” as you call them on trailer are bunks.
@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. Safety wire was already on them and was not the reason it came out. They were secured with wire after it was reinstalled. It just wasn’t in the video. Thanks for clearing up the vocabulary issue. I hope that hasn’t caused to many problems for my viewers.

That’s why I always use a tube rope to tow a boat… it floats!

Is the engine in your boat a reverse rotation engine?
@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe it is.

@@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain cool mine is, I’m about to start on it. It has been sitting since I was like 14 and I’m 31 now!learned to knee board on it
@MakeSkiBoatsGreatAgain2 жыл бұрын
Good luck with that! I’m 43 and just kneeboarded behind it yesterday. First time in 20 years… and certainly the last. Ouch.
