Hello from China, one year ago when I started listening to your podcast, I can understand almost as much vocabulary as I can today, the difference is that I had to be REALLY focused to understand last year, one single noise would distract me and then I lose the flow, very hard to get back to your stories ,but today I can easily understand you while taking a shower, washing dishes or even fall asleep… the requirements to my environment is getting lower, which I think I need to thank you for, and I also like your singing:) to express my gratitude, I’d like to say happy birthday.

Thank you for this interesting podcast Luke! I learn a lot, I'm a retired teacher of English in Argentina who travels abroad through my former students because I can't afford a trip hahah. The situation in my country looks like the ones you describe in the video about USA and UK, the problem is that we're a developing country so the poverty is bigger and the rich are richer and sadly the gap is increasing . I learn a lot with your episodes because they keep me in touch with the language. We usually meet with a coleague and friend to practise conversation and we watch your episodes too. I like talking about politics, and all the topics you cover. Thanks again for your podcasts and the link to All Ear English

Hi, Luke. Thank you very much for this episode. Your conversation was highly informative and gave me an insight into the social and economic upheaval in both countries that has been happening now. In addition, I learned tons of words I'd never come across before. You used pretty advanced English in this episode. However, I was still able to get the gist of your talk. I live in Poland. What is going on now in my beloved country is beyond imagination. Since the last election, there has been constant turmoil. Tensions in the society have heightened even more. And the politicians seem to compete for the most arrogant public person. I've been into politics way too much for the last few months. Once I realized that I wasted my precious leisure time on tracing quarrels and jostling, I quit that. Instead, I turned to listening to English podcasts. And your podcast, Luke, is one of my favourite. And it's in British English. 😀

Yesterday I watched "The Navigators", by Ken Loach. It migh not be the most notorious Loach's film, but still raises a few interesting questions on how capitalist societies affect the relationship between co-workers as well as their private lives to the point where even their safety can be put in risk, the way we are suppossed to compete with each others and to where are the margins that define wether that competition can be morally acceptable. I immediately thought it could be an interesting topic for a discussion, in case someone wants to use it in their learning environment to have a deep chat on the the matter 👌

We dont modified easly because of vocabulary especally advance level vocabulary. You know already we have some of the list to memorize them. I think different aspect of given postcast. for example you prepare a postcast just context and topic but we need to some of the word repitation. I mean you can chose 10 or 20 advance level word and try to use them again and again on your speech. İt can be very effective for us. listen 1.5 hours podcast and hear 50 times same word bit different sentence. it can nail wolrd our brain ı think soo please think a bit of this aspect.

Interesting the podcast. Talking about politics, in my country, Spain, is the same problem, Politicians argue and argue endlessly about issues not important for the rest of citizens. The country has many problems: agriiculture, high rents, unemployment especially of the young- But the politicians only think of their parties , and don't make an effort to join ideas, to solve the problemas. It's frustrating, and ,at the same time, annoying. Many people are not interested in politics anymore, especially young people and this is a problem because the only voters are more than 40 years- old. This frustration gives way to the exponential growth of far-right partes, with an authoritarian and dangerous view of the problems. They are populists . The future doesn't seem to be brilliant
