We get a few of these from time to time and its cool to see the different options that they came with back in the day.

Thanks for giving it a send off. Had to have been someone’s pride and joy at one time.

Yep to think the first owners were so proud to show it off at the time it was brand new and they brought it home from the showroom....and it's an 87? Doesn't seem like that long ago at all gosh I feel old....

Wife's grandfather had an 88 with a 318...back in 91. Light Blue Slate and leather interior...and had those cool mag rims with white walls. It was a nice car...especially with those rims it had.

Nice. A friend had one if these in high school. These cars were smooth and comfortable going down the road.

great video it looked like a good car in the future these cars from the 80s and 90s will be desirable! as more and more face the crusher!

yep that will probably be true. 🙄 Four doors are still not as desirable as coupes but there seems to be a growing interest.

Those Fifth Avenues were nice cars. Sad to see how many end up. That one was loaded. Good riding luxury. Seemed all there, it hadnt been scavenged. Shame it ended up in the crusher.

Man that's just flat out nasty. I don't understand people. They buy high end luxury, and crap on it? I own two 5th avenues. They are being donated to museums when I croak.

That car would clean up and you can’t kill a 318 very easily

Had one back when these things were cheap & plentiful. She was quiet, comfortable & rode like a dream. 5th Avenues were V8 only. Either a 318 (5.2 litre) or a 360 (5.8 litre). Mine had the 318. Had some issues with that ol' lean burn set up but she was generally far more reliable than the Caddies of that era...

Not in 1987 it wasn't. You could get a Cadillac with a 307 Oldsmobile V8 in that year (and the year before) that was a competitor to this car. The Cadillac ran smoother due to the Q-Jet. The Holley two barrel used on these was complete crap, and there were a few service bulletins on them over the years. Eventually, Chrysler got smart and dumped the Holley for a Q-Jet on their V8 engines. The 360 when used was mostly for fleet and government use.

@@googleusergp Knew a neighbor before I had mine who had a 360, looked factory, Had 360 on the emissions sticker. Maybe it was a swap. As for the mid to late 80s Caddies well, I owned my Fifth Avenue in the early 2000s . There were many more of mine still on the road than your Cadillacs at that time. Worked for a towing company back then and the yard was full of 'em. Still cosmeticly gorgeous but mechanically dead...

@@nsidor1234 Pack of morons must have owned them. The 307 V8 is extremely reliable and this is well known in the industry. No powerhouse but they ran better than any crappy Holley equipped 318. The 318 is an excellent engine, but it's saddled with complete junk for carburetion and ignition.

😢 i had one back in the day. 80k miles on a 87 like brand new back in 2001. Still had the new car smell. It was so clean it was stolen 3 months after purchase. Left it at the salvage yard stripped to death with vinyl top cut.

This is a 1987 model year as the 10th digit of the VIN is an "H". With the VIN, we win: 1C3 for US made Chrysler, B for manual seat belts, F for 5th Avenue, 6 for special, 6 for four door sedan, P for 5.2L (318 CID) V8 with two barrel, 8 is a check digit, H for the 1987 model year, W for Kenosha, WI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Kenosha, WI plant was absorbed by Chrysler when they bought AMC in 1987 and these cars were assembled there from mid 1987 to 1989 (actually the end of 1988 for the 1989 model year). They are the "M" body platform and are related to the previous F body (Volare and Aspen) platform as well. You didn't get the trim tag under the hood which would have had the codes for all of the options, including the paint code. So, no tag, can't brag, but should be code C6 Gunmetal Blue exterior paint. Bill Davidson was the owner of that dealership and he died in 2014. The dealership became Henderson and Wood for a time, but they are gone too. What's even more odd that having GM and Chrysler under one roof is having all three Chrysler brands under one roof. Typically Dodge might be by itself with Chrysler-Plymouth together, but there were exceptions as we see here. Of course, you would see Dodge vehicles being serviced in a Chrysler-Plymouth dealer and the other way around, since the parts books were the same and the service procedures were the same.

What a shame. Some of the parts are sought after like the taillight set, dash pad and the 318 is a roller cam and lifter type which makes it a excellent durable motor, also the wheel well trim and the 7 inch steelies wheels.

Love your videos! But why wouldnt you try selling the cars to some demolition derby drivers'? You should be able to make a few hundred more than scrap for alot of them and you still get your parts to sell. If you get with some guys up here in the north they would be drooling for just about anything without road salt damage. It would be worth their while they trailer 4 or 5 at a time and resell them up here or just run them. They are looking for compacts, mid size, full size, mini vans, trucks. It doesnt even have to be that old alot of cars from the early 2000s are worth alot more $ than scrap now!
