Really like the light finish on the walls and ceiling, it brightens the space nicely with your neat new lighting system. The time lapse segments of the build are great. Good show.

Yh me too, the music really helps set the mood and it’s fun trying to find a piece that fits tempo of the time lapse, when it all come together it’s magic. And as for the light shades, it’s a bit of alchemy honestly. With only having portholes, no coach windows, and those being tinted, with the hatches shut there isn’t lot of light in the boat. I’d love to have and old pirate ship looking boat, all turned dark wood, but with it already being a dark space I wanted to make it feel as big as possible. I tried a stain on the cladding, didn’t like it, wondered what I was going to do. I watched Andy on nogun wales on KZbin, and he was using floor varnish on his pieces to seal them and I thought if it’s good enough for him… so I ended up not staining the boards, but they needed cleaning up so I chose to sand them, in for a penny in for a pound. And with all those choices I ended up with a light, natural wood ceiling, I never started out with that in mind, it’s just how it came out, but I think it’s great 😀 thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Hi Oli. I’ve been watching your vlog since you started but I don’t believe I’ve commented before. You really are doing a great job and it’s good to see that you are doing things correctly and not rushing. I look forward to the next video.

Thanks very much 👍 it’s nice to get some feedback, I honestly have no idea what I’m doing, if it wasn’t for KZbin and the internet in general, I would never have dared try anything this ambitious. But, where there’s a will there’s a way. You keep watching and commenting, I’ll keep showing you my triumphs & failures 😉 thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Looking phenomenal Oli, you did so much with Tim's help, and just think you will never have to pick a crisp packet up off of the floor again, ingenious! Enjoy your bank holiday weekend, looking forward to seeing the update. Best wishes Christine x

That's a cracking idea for the vents oli a proper fan assist vent is about 40 quid! I'm gonna have a go at that, cheers mate :)

Oli that's looking awesome! My boat didn't have any lining tubes between the inner and outer of the vents and I always wondered if it was a good or bad thing to have free air flow like that. Bad I suspect - I like the way your are being so thorough. I had wires for a 12v bathroom fan but never got around to fitting one :(

It’s just something that’s been floating around my head for a while, and it’s been mentioned in the comments a few times. Also I’ve never seen anyone do it so I thought why not? I got lucky that they make round fans at almost exactly the same size as the pipe I used, it just kind of worked out 👍 let’s how long it lasts.

Very Ingenius idea for the fan Have you sat down and reviewed your videos just to remember how you have accomplished? As they say, "You have Come along way Baby"

Yh sometimes I do, I check the bricks ones cos there’s a glimpse or two of the outside of the boat, the rust etc, it’s easy to forget how much I’ve put into this thing and what it looked like before. Thanks for coming back and all the comments 👍

I love your videos, only wish I had the time to make mine as good! Do you edit on phone or pc?
@olivellanarrowboat4319 Жыл бұрын
Well thanks very much, I edit on the phone, then proof watch it on a bigger screen (standard living room) then I’ll adjust it if I need to (fast camera sweeps etc that you don’t notice on the smaller screen) before uploading. I did try to use a Mac to edit once, still with iMovie, but there were too many options for me, on the phone it’s super straight forward. Thanks for watching and commenting, and best of luck with your build, I see you’ve made some great progress already 👍 I probably should have double insulated mine like you’re doing…. I’ve still got a roll, I might yet do just that, well have to see how cold this winter is
@BuildingEVee Жыл бұрын
@@olivellanarrowboat4319 Thanks, useful to know. Re the insulation - I'll be a liveaboard CC once she's done so the spray foam is thicker than usual too... We'll see how toasty she keeps me 🙂

It’s in a little village in between Leicester and reading. Nice, I’ve never been to Malta, even though my dad was from hamrun. To me the boat will never be ready for the water lol, but for sure we’re getting closer, thanks for watching and commenting 👍
