I have literally searched the entire platform of KZbin for months and finally found a video! My sweet pickled Christ you are the friggen best! One day a link just fell to the floor and lost ability to operate the hvac vents. I’m curious as to why it fell but I’ll be inspecting that tomorrow. And thanks for the part links! Very cool.

Changed my blend door actuator out today with a Dorman 604-102 replacement. Install went smoothly on my 1994 Silverado Extended cab. Mine was working - but the actuator was jerking in operation and not smooth. I lubed the pivot arms and springs too! The blend actuator is right by the gas pedal and pretty much out in the open. The only thing worth noting was the instructions for not plugging in or activating the new actuator until it was installed on the box shaft. Thanks for the video - great instruction.

Whoever gave this suggestion, you are AWESOME!. I have a 1990 Chevy pickup with this exact problem. I live in Minnesota and the winter season has arrived. The defroster did not work. Without a defroster forget about driving in the winter. I followed your instructions and low and behold, you were exactly correct. I read several blogs indicating you had to remove the entire dash. You saved me a major nightmare, headache and significant time. Thanks again!

The Flapper doors get all crappy, the rubber seal fails on them. I have some new ones, I need to change them. @shorty0046 жыл бұрын
Ghetto Wagon fresh air one is passengwr side by blower fan?
@GhettoWagon6 жыл бұрын
Yea its the recirc door or fresh air. Its right between the crack of the blower motor and the hvac box. The lower screw you can get to. The top one you need a gasket scraper or something long, and a nut driver 7mm. Place the nut driver on the top screw, support it with a gasket scraper and turn the nut driver with a 1/4 inch LONG wrench. Its a total PITA and the nut driver will fall off 5,000 times but you will eventually get it out Remove the glove box liner and shine a bright light down it and it helps. If you look under the dash by the blower motor you see the actuator or at least the wires and the connector to it I fixed it only because if the recirc does not work the AC temp sucks in this humid swamp

Jason Simmons how did you do this
@jasonsimmons66845 жыл бұрын
My 88 has a linkage down there where he was at and it moves back and forth to go from floor, vent, or defrost. So I wired it to blow defrost. I mean like wire holding the linkage in the defrost spot. So you see him messing with the linkage about half way through the video. When he reaches up in the dash sliding the spring loaded thing. I thought about attaching a choke cable to it and then I could manually move from floor to vent to defrost. I mean this is an old truck I don't drive that much any more so I'm not spending a ton of time or money on it. Th module itself isnt that expensive for a daily driver if that's all that's wrong with it.

+Mark Thompson It depends n the year I think on a 95 you can buy the whole piece with the doors for $100 or so, if its even still available which it might not be, You need to find a parts breakdown on a GM parts site and you will see it.
