Ike you nearly had Kentucky Fried Leroy on the end of that lap or could that have been a interesting hood ornament?
@dk8320026 жыл бұрын
Need to just put a steering rack on it like the off-road go-karts in the prefabs do I use the rack and pinion off on my golf cart and then that also gives you real ball joints instead of the little rod ends that are got slapped in them

I have to agree completely with the “averaging” of the runs. Between height and weight and driving styles, that’s the best way to keep the “Grand Prix” leaderboard as accurate as possible. But I think you should do all the builds with a lap to get a good idea of your build history. Only exception would be the rail car cause it’s made for straight lines.

Ya'll need to build a digital lap timer. Instead of relying on a human that is trying to beat your time, wire up a photoelectric sensor like the safety beam used on garage doors, similar to how a drag strip operates. I've got seven beam sensors on my small backyard track that gives me split times down to .001 of a second and it is easy to calculate average MPH too.

Hey guys... Really glad you went with the NON-hemi engine on this one. The two engines are manufactured by two completely different factories and about the only thing they really have in common is the color scheme. The non-hemi is a far better quality engine and can easily be built to make plenty of power. The quality of the hemi engine leaves a lot to be desired. Fit and finish, as well as machining tolerances are not nearly as good as the non-hemi. I have owned over 15 of these engines and have put them all to the test. Non-hemi wins. Also, the non-hemi is essentially a true Honda GX200 clone that has been bored and stroked. Honda GX200 parts are interchangeable with it. The Hemi is its own breed and not many of the Honda GX parts will fit.

love the old school kart...keep up the great videos...now as for the touchy stearing you can move the inner tierod ends in closer to the steering shaft and it will give less stearing response .or move the outer rods further from the pivet point bust out the welder.been there.just built my son a old school kart had the same problem..go 1 inch in at a time ..I put a 3hp electric motor on my sons kart it will go 25 mph no problem ......has way more low end then a gas motor hope to post a video soon...fuel still rules...thanks for the inspiration....still got a grin on face after my first test ride today...subscribed

I have a new name for the hard left hander at the far end of the property after crossing the last driveway section. I guess that’s technically the front of the house. The part that parallels the road you rip up and down on. Hopefully 3 separate descriptions is enough to let you figure out what I’m talking about. That is now called the “slow is fast” corner. Slow is fast because spinning out, or almost spinning out isn’t 😬

So, how much would it cost the average Joe to build that cart as it is in this video?How about a cost breakdown.
@CarsandCameras6 жыл бұрын
Links to the kit are in the description. Actually building this chassis from scratch? No idea. It depends on your experience and how cheap you can buy metal for.
@tiporari6 жыл бұрын
$1292.00 + freight. You can find mostly complete carts on Craigslist for 50-500, $100 for a predator 212, and say another $150 for wheels, tires, assundries etc. Total cost can be as low as a couple hundred if you are resourceful.

This setup looks identical to my street dingo I built years ago. Put my dingo back to a big tire setup and making my American Express my street kart.

You guys should try a Drag link steering set up. Connect both spindles with a long tie rod and then run a short tie rod from pitman arm to one spindle. This will remove all BUMP STEER. Keeps both front wheels aligned with each other over bumps.

@shawnramsey27916 жыл бұрын
The reason why it is so wobblie on hi speeds . Is the tire size , get some azusa Tri Star wheels 5” , and some 4.10/3.50-5 tires , they will handle the high speeds better , beefier tire rods are also a safer bet for high speeds

38T sprocket 10T pinion with 10 inch tall tire at 5250 rpm is @41mph 3.8 to 1 ratio. SO... for 87mph you need a 18T sprocket at 5250 rpm with a 1.8 to 1 ratio. Now you can see the rpm improvement in the motor upgrades.

So I bought a 212 a while back for a cart but I had to abandon the project sadly and I sold my frame so instead of a cart I happened upon an old razor dirtbike from when I was a kid and I'm wondering what I can do to make the engine smaller (ex relocate the gas tank) and basically I was hoping you guys could do an instructional video on how to make a basic cart or bike. I've learned a lot from your channel by watching various vids but I can't find one that's a basic how to video on assembling everything.
@dbman9926 жыл бұрын
So can u run that engine without any internal upgrades at the higher rpm like u did in the test? Wasn't sure if you could just do that and run it.
