Hey, Greg! This is Wayne (from Buffalo). Had to change my account because none of my comments were posting recently for any channels I like. Another great episode! Congrats on the Army button. I was lucky enough to find a WWI Army Great Seal button a few weeks back, and I’m still having good luck with coins (which is all I really try to find). Managed to get a beautiful 1917 Merc this evening. Hope you’re doing well, and thanks for educating all of us with what you do!

Hi Greg, always happy to watch your videos, the wife and I are still your biggest fans! :) I believe the mystery find is a box iron, a common find in the British Isles. They were heated then placed in a wooden box for use, hence the "box iron" label. Hope that helps. Thanks as always for the great videos. Be well, stay safe and God bless. Rev. D.
@FindingAmericaАй бұрын
Thanks so much and I really appreciate you and your wife watching the episodes. Thanks very much for the help with that piece of iron. I looked at a lot of box or slug irons and the inserts are very similar to the one I found but I did notice they all came to a sharp point at the front whereas the one I found was squared off. It's definitely very close to a match. So glad to hear you all enjoy the videos and God bless you both as well. ATB Greg

I couldn't even count how many times I've driven by the Books Cadillac. Some of my favorite places to detect are when they rip up streets in Detroit and I get out there before they repave them. Those old streets hide some really cool stuff from the beginning of Detroit. Good times.

So many mega-W-O-Ws in this episode! I can't help wondering how often you think to yourself "now how did that end up here?"! Also, is it possible that the ground heaves d/t changes in the seasons, as to why certain objects magically appear?---Amazing to hear someone say my name!
@FindingAmericaАй бұрын
Yes, freezes definitely will move things around underground but it's not too much of a factor here in TN as we rarely get hard and deep freezes like that here. It definitely happened a lot in Germany when I detected there. Glad I could include you in the Mystery Solved segment this time! Thanks for watching this one and take care! ATB Greg

Greg, the Book Cadillac embossed spoon was a spectacular find and it sure looks like silver, great back story. I enjoyed the bale seal, we don’t have those here. The otimizer handle was cool,but the quarter master collar button was the best. We find so many model T valve streams and railroad spikes as well. Take care, you have recovered well from being under the weather a few weeks back.😀👍👏

I don't know why, but I want to find a bale seal the most. The RR spike in the beginning was a good sign. And that spoon was plated?? That was a hell of a plating job! I was waiting to see .925 on it somewhere. And i see people finding those valve stem caps alot, but not the valve stem itself. Lol. Maybe the whole cars down there. 😅
@FindingAmericaАй бұрын
That was definitely a well plated spoon with a great history. I am sure you will find your bale seal out there soon. I always enjoy finding them. I even have some that I found in Germany years ago. Great pieces of history. Thanks very much for watching this one, Michael. Take care and ATB Greg

Those valve stems could have been used on any car but what you can tell is the first two were shorter design and were used in steel spoke wheels like a Model A and the longer ones like your 3rd one was used in wooden spoke wheels and had to be longer to pass through the wood. So the longer ones are most likely from the teens and twenty's and the short ones are maybe late 20s to late 30s. Great finds!
