Chelsea they have won the champions league so they are the biggest club in regards to performances. Arsenal is the biggest in terms of fan base. Also the arrogance of Flex to stay that City isn`t bigger then United, as of right now that is true, but give it 5-10 more years of success of Man City then that will change, it is delusional to act like these things can`t or won`t change. Based upon the dominance of AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Juve, Man U etc in the 90-00`s those fan bases would have expected these things to stay consistent for 10-20-30 years into the future, that clearly hasn`t been the case Man City and Madrid are the teams that dominate football on the global scale, most players in the world probably want to join one of these two clubs unless they support some particular club.

@@thetruth4654 the difference between united and city is the longevity of who they are as a club. United have been at the top level multiple times, the 50s, the 70s, the 90s, the 2000s. it brings in generational fans, these people have kids and their kids support united and see them win, and it goes on and on. its why united has one of, if not the biggest, fanbase in the world. The same can be said about liverpool, periods of dominance and coming back and doing it again. at some point for city, pep will leave and city will lose dominance, whether instantly or gradually is irrelevant, it will happen. Empires always fall. the test for city is if they can regain that dominance. If they can they can rival united and liverpool, but until they get that generational success, they can never acrew the fanbases and size of liverpool or united. in 30 years maybe, but not before then. The same can be said about the story for united. with the busby babes, the munich crash, fergie and the class of 92. The players theyve had as well, not just world class but characters, roy keane, cantona, beckham, ronaldo, robson, bobby charlton etc. These players are etched to not just united folklore but football folklore and yh de bruyne is a fantastic player, arguably better then most of those, but he doesnt have a character that sticks with ppl. The first i think city have that could be like this is haaland if he can stick there long enough. All these things go towards building a story over the generations that people can get behind and support, and city dont have that. currently there story is oil money and buying the best coach in the world after he already proved he was at barca and bayern. So no, theyre not bigger and trophies in the short run wont instantly make them bigger

It’s based on when you started watching football. Over the last 30 years it is Chelsea. That makes some ppl mad but it’s the truth. Be it Wenger with modern sports science, the invincibles and it was also the first club to really embrace black players. Juventus is the biggest club in Italy because they have the most league titles even though AC Milan has more CL. United is the biggest club in England even though Liverpool has more CL. Yes, CL is a prestigious trophy but the winner doesn't always represent the best team in Europe since you can be poor all season and just turn up for two months and fluke it like Chelsea. You can't fluke a league title. Even Nottingham Forest has two European Cups but they ain't even bigger than Newcastle. Chelsea are still waaaaaaay behind Arsenal in terms of leagues. The Cup Winners' Cup wasn't more prestigious. You can see it by the clubs that qualified for that trophy. It was not prestigious at all. The European Cup was reserved for the champions. Rory's right about the prem era tbf. That's why United are considered bigger than Liverpool. Because despite Liverpools 6 champions leagues to Uniteds 3, and then having pretty much the same league titles. United dominated most of the prem era. Realistically it goes United, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Arsenal. City and Chelsea are pretty neck and neck at this point but I'd favour Chelsea based on European success. City will overtake soon though to become the 3rd biggest. People just don't like to accept that history can be written pretty quickly. Arsenal definitely have more fans in the UK compared to Chelsea, and as the panellists are from the UK, they are going by their experience.
