Hi everyone, I am the proud owner of a 1975 Ford Gran Torino which I want to restore, which I am suggested to do to get some parts. I live in Venezuela in the City of Caracas. After watching the video, I was very encouraged to continue with the restoration of the vehicle.

When I was a kid in the 70's-80's we had one of these, I believe it was a 1974 Grand Gran Torino Brougham..it was dark green with tan cloth interior, had those rear fender skirts and all the gadgets inside..as a kid I was scared of the wipers as the driver's side was articulating arm!! Funny now to look back on that!! Your's is a PERFECT example of one!! My parent's bought theirs new in 74 and traded it in on a new, 1980 Camaro..I liked the Ford better as the back seat was larger! The Camaro was not comfortable for the rear seat! Sure was fun to drive once I was 16 though!!

1976, 4dr. 351 engine- when you revved the engine, the entire car twisted. That boat seated seven teenagers - 12 if you were fleeing the cops. Absolute legend.

OMG! My very first car! My Dad was a body and fender man who bought the car from his shop and drove it from Pennsylvania to Florida to give it to me back in 1982. Wow! It was like driving down the street while chilling in your easy chair! ...At 85 mph! :-) Thanks Dad!

Oh how that PRND12 'prindle' brings back my memory. Copper with white top and medium brown interior with a bench seat. 351 motor jumped out the gate.

Love ya Torino. Also love the upholstery. Sick of looking at leather. Beautiful upholstery needs to make a comeback. More comfortable than leather too

Well, what you call clearance lights are actually turn signal lights; The law in my country demands turn signals on the side and amber color all around; front, rear and side....in the front the existing lamps could have been used, but the law demand white park lights, in the back the law demands amber light.....all this have been put on the car when new, but actually if the car is 35+, the original lights are ok...I know this car is old enough to change it back to original, but it has become a history thing and a funny detail on this particularly car......

Flot bil. Jeg var ham der hentede den fra en lade, hvor den havde stået i 18 år, brugte ca 200 timer på at få den synet og køreklar igen. Håber du værdsætter mit arbejde

How come out has kilometres on the speedometer?
@carscloseup5 жыл бұрын
Because we use metric system here in Europe (Denmark)...All cars for export was probably designated for Canada were metric is used, this one was sold new in my country...
@jasongomez53445 жыл бұрын
I assumed this video was from the US. I have never seen one of these Starsky & Hutch cars in the UK and I doubt they were sold here. We have the metric system here, but the roads are still in miles, as it would have cost too much money to replace all the road sings when the country went metric in the late '60s.

@@jasongomez5344 Well, then we are neigbours :) In the early 70's US car sales were quite good here, though still a were low percentage was US cars. Some Torinos were sold, but the Ranchero (based on the Torino) was the big seller, due our tax system that made pick ups and vans relatively cheap.

How much is this thing worth in its condition?
@carscloseup4 жыл бұрын
Taylor Humes That depends on what part of the world you live in...As you probably know this car is in Europe and in this condition I would suggest around $15000. This car was sold approximately 5 years ago for around $12000...

@@carscloseup hey thanks for responding! I'd say that's a fair price considering how clean it is!

Alfredo Hinojosi In this cold climate it’s not necessary, at least at the time...Nowadays you can’t live without it...Nothing to do with global warming, here we have local cooling😂😂.....but the preferences were lower in the ‘70s..
