No problem man. I'm having a blast making these videos. And I feel exactly like you do. There is just something about this era truck. I had to sell my C2500 because it was too long for my current driveway. But man, that thing hauled so much drywall for me.

great video. i have this truck as well and am having an issue with the speedo dropping out. if i pound the dash it comes back online. i sent the cluster off to specmo. they sent it back saying no issue found. i guess the socket that the cluster plugs into must be the issue. anyone else have this problem?
@MaqsVids3 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen this problem yet. It's a lot easier when you can identity an issue on the cluster side. Let me know if you ever find a fix. One thing I have learned is that if one truck does it, others likely will too

Figured it out. The bulb wires were not touching the leads on the plugs on the board. I bent them out a little and put them back in, I bet that'll fix it. I'll post a video soon showing what I found while I did this.
@MaqsVids3 жыл бұрын
@@benwrenchin I'm gonna take a look at that too. That makes sense. I'm going to do it with mine next time to see if they work both ways. That would be so much better. Thanks

@@MaqsVids This totally helped. Can't tell if all are fixed, but many that were not working before are now working. Conclusion: LED replacement bulbs do not fit into lead connections correctly and need to be modified to fit the bulb wires better into the socket leads.

Love your well spoken videos. We have identical trucks and would like to know if you’ve ever come across the issue of the stalk to engage the left turn signal being incredibly difficult? Right works well but the left requires full hand force to lock in place.

@MrSolracolina3 жыл бұрын
Did you order white or green leds??
@MaqsVids3 жыл бұрын
I ordered white ones.
@thatrebelboy483 жыл бұрын
White ones will make the cluster look like in the video, green LEDs will make the cluster a little brighter, richer green than factory, and blue LEDs will make the cluster blue. The individual gauges has green plastic on the back of them so if you want white, red, orange, or any other color than green and blue, you’ll have to remove the clear lens, gauge bezel, and each individual gauge. The speedometer gauge has four screws holding it in and the other gauges each have two screws holding them in. Remove the screws, pull the speedo first, then pull the other gauges out. They just pull out after removing the screws, but be careful remove on the side gauges…either the top or bottom gauge overlaps the other. Can’t remember which one overlaps though. Once you pull the individual gauges out, you’ll see a green diffuser lens made to the back of them. Remove that green plastic with a dremel but be careful to not over do it. Just remove enough green plastic so that the white of the gauges can be seen. One way to check this is by shining a light behind the gauge and checking to see if the light emits white or green from the front.
