I absolutely adore your collection of Fostoria dishes. I don’t have any pieces but after seeing your pieces, I am going to start searching for some. I doubt they will be at the prices you got them for but I’ll see what I can afford to buy. Thank you granny Pat for making these videos. You are a delight to listen to and to watch. You remind me so much of a friend of mine that I had in New York which is where I was born. I’ve been living in Houston since 1969 I was a very young mother when I met her and she was probably the age that I am now. We lived in the same apartment building in the Bronx. Her name was Ida Mae but we called her Dodo because her younger sister couldn’t pronounce her name when she was little and so, the name stuck. I’m a granny myself. I turned 80 last October. I have been blessed with 6 grandchildren two of which are great grandchildren. Thank you for keeping me company every night when I go to bed. I can watch one video after another. Take care and God bless you. 🙏🏼❤️

I love your collection.....I just discovered this pattern of dishes recently! Then I found out that Jeannette glass created a version of the Fosteria Whitehall pattern. I grew up in Jeannette, Pa and loved watching all the glass productions there! You are a beautiful woman! Love your videos! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for this video Granny Pat! I have a set of Fostoria American I inherited from my grandmother and it was her mothers from Louisiana, I imagine she got the pieces in the 30s when she married my great-grandfather. I have a ice tea set, serving dishes, and a set of dessert plates. I thought about collecting more but I enjoy having the pieces I know were my Great grandmothers. I love your collection, that cake plates are amazing!

I am so appreciative of you sharing your collection of Fostoria American. My grandmother collected this and left me the most beautiful collection that I treasure dearly (so much so that I had a special cabinet built in my kitchen so I can enjoy the beauty of it and think about my grandmother every day). It breaks my heart to hear of our younger generation not being interested and getting rid of beautiful family collections. I only have a son to pass the collection on to one day, but thankfully he has an appreciation of family collections and likes antiques (well maybe I scared him into when I said that both my grandmother and myself would find a way to haunt him if it ended up in Goodwill. Lol). Thanks again for sharing your beautiful collection!

Your love of Fostoria is so contagious. I did some close looking at a few pieces I received from my Mother in law. They are Fistoria chintz and I love it. And what should I see on my weekly thrift store trip were 4 Fostoria pieces, a cream pitcher, a small fluted bowl, and an oval bowl with a saucer under it. I came home and made my hubby salmon Pattie’s, coleslaw tomato and homemade applesauce. I set the table with the good dishes and Fostoria.We both agreed that we were probably the only people on the street using Fostoria at lunch. You inspired me to use my pretty dishes❤

I searched on Fostoria American and was delighted to have found your channel. This was the crystal given to us as a wedding gift in the late '60s, and I have been adding to the collection ever since. There were so many different items produced I have yet to find even half of the more unusual pieces, but I have amassed quite a number. It is sad that the younger generations are not interested in our "antiques" and are being auctioned off for pennies, or "donate" is their favorite word! Happily for me, my collection has grown exponentially. Mine, too, will one day be auctioned or donated...

I appreciate your lessons, Granny Pat! "Dog feet," handles on pitchers... So glad you got your candle holders! Does the "star" design on the bottom of the glass tell you it is Fostoria?
@chitchatwithgrannypat79007 ай бұрын
Not always! Some stemmed dishes/glasses have a round base; some have a hexagon base - both are Fostoria. Star Combined with other shapes, yes. (Hard to answer). Google the FOSTORIA WEBSITE. They can show pictures and give you answers re Fostoria and Whitehall. I have a few Whitehall pieces. If a bowl/dish has ‘peg’ feet, it is Whitehall. Fostoria feet are wide with a dividing line down the middle. Kinda like a bulldog. I don’t want to confuse you. I’m not an expert!

Loving your chatty instructive info, thank you for your lovely posts, enjoying them all immensely,my mother had many of the pieces you have and recalling the pride she took in setting a proper table with them, so infuriating that family members came and appointed themselves to remove all her kitchen and dining room things and household things and either tossed or sold at a yard sale, with zero regard for any of its purposes or respect for their history or that we daughters should have the things instead of random yard sale nickels and dimes it brought to them, thoroughly wrong
