Nice selection of books for the finale. "Light Horse March" and "I've never a smile like yours" are by Varetto; "Three Dragoon Guards March" is James Tiller on a good day. "Masaniello" and "Barber of Seville" are from Marenghi-Gaudin; the "Selection from 'Pagliacci'" was marked by Mr Blache for the Sunday 'charity' recitals. A copy featured in the library of Harniess' "Little Wonder" Marenghi.

Marenghi organs are such very enjoyable instruments! I really like this one especially the sleighbells at the top and that mighty sound!

Marenghi organs are fantastic - and this is by and large probably the best one in the UK... You should come down and hear it one day!

@@MechanicalMusicTravels It is indeed one of the best in the UK plus it’s very well maintained. Not a single off key in sight!

Fantastic Lucas! Getting the new year off to a great start. First time I’ve heard this organ playing Masanielo by Auber. What a tour de force! Great selection. I heard Cavelleria Rusticana by Mascagni just after the Pagliaci selection, an unexpected bonus! Looking forward to some more great videos. Many thanks for posting them.

Oops - I had forgotten about Cavalleria Rusticana slipping in there unnoticed, I will add that to the list of tunes! Masaniello is a fantastic overture, this is the first time I have heard it on an 89... It is a firm favourite on 98.

Oh whata prettttty grelotphone
@MechanicalMusicTravels4 күн бұрын
Indeed! It's probably one of only 5 or so (fairground) organs still to have one worldwide.
@jorybennett59324 күн бұрын
@MechanicalMusicTravels it's the only working example of a Marenghi fitted with a grelotphone mechanism from new. The 'Little Wonder' (in store) has one; the Jenning's Marenghi has a made-up one added in preservation using the old bells from the AFOM Marenghi. White's had a grelophone fitted in the 20 but Mr Parmley removed it! Imagine tubular bells and sleigh bells on the same instrument. This was a feature of some scenic organs. Mr Cushing harboured thoughts of having sleigh bells added to the Thursford Marenghi but these have not materialised. Nothing divides enthusiasts more as to whether they are a good thing or a bad thing. Very much a 'Marmite' issue.

@@jorybennett5932 I'm always pro-bells in any context really, amused it's so decisive.
