3rd party controller maker: this gets hall sticks, that gets hall sticks, every controller gets hall sticks. Console makers: Huh! Anyway, here some new color, lol.

Because by doing that they get a lot of money. planned obsolescence is a real thing, with controllers we get no hall effect sticks with Sony & Microsoft, with NVIDIA we get lower VRAM, iPhone 15 for example had only 6GB of RAM - which is pathetic.

@@J0rdan912exactly. People complained with the Xbox one and series consoles when they came out saying “it’s 2013/2020 and they are still using AA batteries? Get with the times Microsoft.” No, people are failing to understand that lithium batteries hold their charge over continuous use. They complain that their phones need reliable batteries but want integrated rechargeable batteries on their console. Like which one do they want. I vote for longevity and if the AA last for 15 a charge, properly dispose and get new ones and keep playing. I hate good looking controllers stop being used just because the battery on it dies so quickly.

@@Ice_2192 I heard that Microsoft has a long-term contract with Duracell, so this is what's holding them from shoving some 6-8 hours, 2-3 years lasting battery like Sony did. So once it's done, no replaceable batteries for us in Xbox controllers I guess...

This is by far my favorite controller. Ergonomics are so good and I agree it's the best for symmetrical as of now. I can have multiday marathon sessions and never have hand fatigue. Part of this is the shape and the other is the triggers which have ultra light tension which I love. The D pad is one of the best IMO rivaled by the Mobapad Chitu. My only real complaint is the stick resolution is a bit low. When trying to get precise tricky angled long shots in Crosscode it can be a little jumpy. Really hoping for Pro 3 eventually. Also, after heavy heavy use, the right bumper doesn't have a click or travel any more but still functions just fine. Not a real concern because 8bitdo sells the repair parts if I wanted to fix it.

I actually just returned one due to latency. I mostly got it to use with Blue Retro on older consoles since it can do X-input over bluetooth, but the latency was high enough to be noticeable. If they upgrade this with the higher stick resolution and lower latency of the 2C, it could be the best controller on the market for myself and probably many others.

This was my main controller over the year when it came out, and only 2 years later from a detailed review I discovered that it had some slightly-worse-than-average and slightly-less-accurate-than-average wireless latency and sticks resolution. This is how big of a problem it actually is) I mean it's not as good as Apex 4 or Vader 4, and unless you're trying to play a high-level competitive games on $50 casual controller 😁

I'm seeing some comments about bad latency, but I think they're talking about something different from what was in the video. You were talking about stick latency, right? Whereas it sounds like other people are talking wireless bluetooth latency or something. So when playing wired how bad is it really? I pretty much exclusively play wired on PC. I leave a C to A cable plugged in and routed under my desk that I can plug into various controllers and unplug when I'm done playing. No hassle. I've even bought 10ft+ C to A cables for use in the living room.

There's no argument, removable replaceable batteries trump internal ones, this controller should be praised for that, for me its one of the near perfect ones, if it had the polling, software customisability and 2.4ghz connection of the Vader 4 pro, and the bearing based, retention springl-less sticks of the Apex 4. It would be the GOAT controller, full stop.

Few months ago sold my previous pro 2 because I saw this new model with hall sticks. But then I thought that Vader gonna be just my ultimate gamepad for every game. That was a mistake, I didn't know that turbo can be such an issue for the "pro controller "😁 Oh and enchanted range of sticks on vader4pro is also didn't work correctly in QTE segments of gow. I know it can be changed to usual circle but still it's an issue for some games.

I don't like the layout, I really wish that someone would make a high quality controller with the "Wii U pro layout" (both analog sticks on top). I bougth two cheap third party controllers for the Switch that have the Wii U pro layout, one wired and one wireless. Both have the same design and the D-pad is really bad, making it unusable for 2D platforming etc.. but it's fine for games like BotW where the D-pad is is not used for movement. I still use them because there are no other options. I wish Nintendo had kept the Wii U pro controller for the Switch, because I don't like the Playstaion layout nor the Xbox layout. The Wii U pro controller was perfection.
