The new revision that comes with philips screws, even fits a Seimitsu LS-32 without any changes. Just use the plate that comes with the 8bitdo. Before you used to have to dril a hole or sand the plastic. It also bits the LS-55, LS-56, LS-58, etc. as they are even smaller.

Have you tried installing a LS-32 in the Arcade Stick? I really don’t see how it would fit without sanding down the bottom of the Arcade Stick or drilling a hole in it 🤔
@ostmedkommensmag
@ostmedkommensmag 4 ай бұрын
Well. I ordered a LS-32-01-SE and it fits. Perfectly. Without any modifications. And I didn't even have to use the plate that comes with the 8bitdo, it fits perfectly with the original SE plate the LS-32 comes with.

I just got the new 2023 8bitdo stick (for xbox and PC) and it's really good.. already in the modding process with it, i've changed the buttons from stock to Seimitsu and i'm waiting for a Seimitsu LS56 stick to arrive shortly which i'll be installing using the soldering method. A tip for anyone is that not all Seimitsu joysticks will fit into this box (same as the previous 8bitdo arcade stick) you must check the depth of each model as there is limited space unless you want to start cutting holes in the base to accommodate it. The LS40 for example will not fit, it's too deep.

I have a spare Madcatz SE that i bought modded with Sanwa lever + buttons for about 80$ (including the original lever and buttons) so i'm tempted to buy this 8bitdo stick, move over the Sanwa hardware to it, and have it as a Player-2 Switch stick (my own is the Hori RAP that i use quite often) if a friend ever wants to try playing on stick (while the Madcatz SE will be modded back to stock). Great video. Finally decided to mod my one and watching this gave me the confidence that I wouldn't completely stuff it up 😆. One thing that did happen to me when I was installing some new Sanwa buttons, was that when pressing in the L-connector wire, I actually ended up bending the button's connectors. So just be careful that you've pushing the L-connectors in dead straight. Also, another observation was that my copy had standard Phillips head screws holding the case together. I suspect that this is a regional difference (mine was purchased in New Zealand).

Love this kind of content. And, great video, btw. I _would_ recommend heat-shrink tubing, as opposed to electrical tape. Mostly cause the tape has a tendency to unwind itself; the glue is kinda weak.. You can even get heat-shrink tube with adhesive inside. I'm modding one of these too! I went with Seimitsu stick and buttons. I prefer the chonky feel. :) *[IMPORTANT]* If installing a Seimitsu stick, plug the harness in, at the stick-connection, *in reverse.* Seimitsu's pins are *_opposite_* of Sanwa.

What Seimitsu stick did you get? LS-33 or 55?
@EgaoKage
@EgaoKage 3 жыл бұрын
@@ostmedkommensmag Sorry for the 5 month-late reply! I use the LS-55-01. I believe that all "-01" suffixed Seimitsu sticks (those with a PCB and a 5-Pin connector) use their 5-Pin connectors opposite to how a Sanwa would, at _one end._ If you reverse it at _both ends,_ well...then you haven't reversed the connection; just the cable. I have used different variants of Seimitsu's "-01" models, and this has always been the case. I've never used the LS-33 in a mod before. Mainly because the LS-33 isn't normally available in an "-01" variant. That's not to say you couldn't use an LS-33 or LS-55, thanks to this fight-stick featuring 4 separate ground wires. If you got yourself the crimp-on female connectors used with non-5-Pin sticks, they could become every-bit as "plug-n-play" as those with 5-Pin connectors. The Seimitsu LS-32 (found in many commercial arcade cabs) _might_ fit inside this fight-sticks housing, though it is likely a bit too bulky. I have not tried to install one though. So I don't know that for sure. Also keep in mind that, if the only reason you want a Seimitsu, is for the stiffer feel of the stick, you can achieve something very similar on a Sanwa, by just changing the resistance spring. Seimitsu are said to be built a little more crudely. But, as a result, hold up to abuse better. For one's personal fight-stick (not a cab available to the public), this durability-level is probably a little over-kill though. Remember that all of these stick modules were designed with long-term commercial use in mind. So I'm sure any stick you choose will out-live the plastic housing you're putting it in. Heh.. Hope this info is of some help, and I wasn't too rambling. xD

Love this. You literally made me buy it, along with Sanwa joystick and buttons. Great video. Thank you! 1 question. Have you uploaded any video about where to go from there? Like a buying guide of fighting sticks for advanced players?

I've finally finished customizing my 8bitdo Arcade Stick. I put the buttons on the Qanba Garvity KS (Purple and Green) and the Seimitsu Nobi Pro stick, so that the stick didn't grab the bottom it had to be milling hard, even melted a small hole.

@@JoystickNY Awesome I’ll be looking out for your review on that one. Personally 8BitDo is a better one stock vs stock and for the price you can’t beat it but Amazon has power A on sale and it’s a better deal which makes up for the no PC portability and some other features (macro/turbo) you get on 8BitDo. I did put in Sanwa joystick and buttons on Fusion stick and it’s amazing now

Actually, if you remove the PCBs first, you'd be able to use buttons that you can screw on. Since they fasten down and sits flush, it'll clear the PCBs. If you're concerned about it rubbing against the plastic chassis, you can sand down or dremel down those walls. They're there to help keep the PCB sitting flat.
