[8C][4k] Following the Florida East Coast Railway South, Cocoa, FL - Stuart, FL 07/13/2021

As the title promises, we explore portions of the southern half of the Florida East Coast Railway between Cocoa, FL and Stuart, FL. In Cocoa, we meet train 336, the very early morning loaded rock train from Miami, FL to Cocoa, FL. This train is difficult to catch in daylight, but he came in late on the morning of July 13th. His SD40-2 pair in bright FEC colors makes him stick out and thus it was nice to catch him. Local train FEC 920 shows up in this video multiple times; he is the Fort Pierce local that work north and south of the yard. He covers certainly about 100 miles on a day like this, which is a lot for a local train. His power is a GP40-2 in dark FEC colors. The other trains in the video - 103, 204, and 206 - are long distance trains connecting Jacksonville, FL in the north and Miami, FL in the south of Florida. These trains usually have a pair of ES44C4 engines sandwiching an LNG fuel tender.

I assume the GP40-2's paint scheme is the newest. I like it, although I think the FEC logo on the nose is a bit weird. Overall the yellow and red color combination is better. The LNG Gevos are cool again, it's always good to see this unique setup. Very nice video, thank you for the update. :)

Oh I thought the darker scheme is older, but I can be wrong. The LNG setups have indeed quite an interesting look. Something one isn't used to in my area. Great you like the video!

All of them sold or scrapped Alaskan 100-103 sold to Vermont Railway RA's 104-105 going to AGR, 106-107 are getting scrapped I believe CITX 140-143 are stored.

They might share a mile or so in Jax, but other than that it's all FEC's own right-of-way. CSX takes a different route (via Orlando) to Miami.

@@melvin0833 It has hoses that connect to the locomotives fuel tank, to continually replenish the supply. FEC does it so that they can use their gevo sets from Miami to Jax and back without a refuel stop.
