Incredible climbing Adam……always a pleasure to watch a master at work, and the distortion out of that knee bar was other worldly!!! I am curious about one thing though? Isn’t that a back clip at 8:32? Know it doesn’t matter, just curious to know if I’m seeing the right thing. Great video regardless Adam✌🏽😃✌🏽

There is a ring bolt, which is a discipline on its own. Generally the rule is it should be clipped with the gate of the biner away from the rock and with rope going out in the intended direction of further progress. Adam clipped it with carabiner the right way and with his rope going to the left where the ring of his original route was, I would say it was the best solution to the situation.
@chaosengine4597
@chaosengine4597 3 жыл бұрын
well spotted, but no back clip. As Al Cupone already stated, it's because of the situation there. One could argue that Adam vould have clipped from right to left instead, but I'm pretty sure he assessed the situation and thought this is the better way. In this case you can see from the following footage that there was no danger of unclipping or side-loading the biner, so in the end it's fine.

My favorite thing about Adam is if he thinks it's 9B while looking at it, he'll think it's a 9a+ while at the top after first accent, and then decides it's a very intensive 8c by the time he makes it to the bottom again lmao

Quick question, Was giving the other quick draw a safety thing or because it doesn’t count unless you anchor of the finishing point? Even though that you clearly made it up there

He could not clip the left one (unable to screw it open) - thus he clipped to the right (other route) and got a biner up from more below. There is also 1 bolt missing, see description.

Adam, where did you get your knee pads for knee bars? Or if anyone else can answer this question: I have seen this same style of knee pads in many climbing videos but can never discover where people get them. Is it actually a knee pad for a different purpose being used for climbing because “climbing knee pads” and similar phrases yield no results online.

practice^^ i think we all had the struggle to climb higher grades. I was stuck quite a long time on 6b/6b+ and after climbing regular 7a (boulders) and 6c routes i am still not satisfied hahaha probably not the most encouraging words but yeah i think the only truth is practice and hard work. beeing conscious of your own movement and condition is kind of key. reading the beta regularily even when your not climbing atm reading betas in your head (i call procastination climbs) actually helped me grow quite conscious of how exactly i now my body. work on your weaknesses and learn to utilise your strengths to the fullest. take rests and accept defeat, to grow stronger than you were yesterday

I think, you answered yourself - learn to fall (search for "fear of falling" videos by hard is easy), and get into sport routes harder than your current level.
@jakearculli6678
@jakearculli6678 3 жыл бұрын
Try the grade you want to climb and you might surprise yourself. Lead up a route thats hard for you and if you start to feel scared, take smaller test falls to show yourself that its safe. Don’t expect to send the route or for it to feel easy. Just try to figure out the moves and you’ll get better. And keep in mind that onsight attempts will feel much harder and you shouldn’t be discouraged by them. Honestly my point of view is if you want to climb harder, try harder climbs. But if you’re climbing 6a you should also try to climb a lot of different routes to gain experience. You could just alternate between trying hard routes and trying a lot of different easier routes and you’ll get better.
