I would love to see a video comparing/contrasting The Tactical Geniuses of Darth Revan, and Grand Admiral Thrawn. I think Revan is criminally underrated in that field, since it was Revan who (virtually) took down The Mandalorian Empire single-handedly, nearly defeated The Old Republic itself afterwards, then fought his own Sith Empire after that, and he won those fights (mostly). If he isn't as tactically great as Thrawn, try comparing him to Admiral Ackbar instead.
@crazyscotsman93272 жыл бұрын
I would say that for the first half of a theoretical Campaign against Thrawn Revan would dominate. His strategies are brilliant and he with his force users he would really screw Thrawn at first, but Thrawn would eventually eventually adapt, and Revan would adept to Thrawn's adaptions but I think that by a hair's margin Thrawn would win. And after winning the campaign Thrawn would be like. "This was the greatest strategist I have ever fought. And I respect him so much." But in a single battle I'd put my money on Revan over Thrawn.

@@lelostimulus9995 it isn't. If manage to make several people upset, you must have said something really bad, like calling a group of black people rapists or old men pedophiles, just because they look at women and younger folks. A droid isn't made to get insulted, and most droids simply isn't made to care about insults. R2D2, i can understand, cause they always forget to wipe his memory when they really should've done so. In R2's case, only Cad Bane remembered to wipe his memory, and droids like R2 is in a special league of droids, as we grew up with the droids in the main cast. Droids like 8D8 and battle droids aren't made to get insulted. They are made to shoot at other things and torture stuff, not get insulted for something that isn't aimed at them
@anthonyrodriguez8788 Жыл бұрын
@@Chisszaru getting offended on someones behalf is not some grand achievement that indicates a social faux pas of extraordinary magnitude, some people just feel personally offended when someone they care about or someone they work for is insulted.
@Chisszaru Жыл бұрын
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 nope. That is actually a grand achievment. No one ever gets offended by insults aimed at others. I know, because i see it every day, and no one ever gets offended by that. Boba Fett wasn't offended, as he just looked on in a mildly amused way, and he was never once offended. That droid was not offended by what happened, he was not offended on behalf of Boba Fett. I know, because it never happen in real life, so it doesn't happen in Star Wars either.
@anthonyrodriguez8788 Жыл бұрын
I think what you mean to say is that YOU personally have never witnessed any of that behavior. Ignoring the fact that people get offended on other people's behalf all the damn time (just look at Twitter) human social structure is extremely complex and throughout human history social standards change alongside the type of society you live in. To take an example from Feudal Japan since Book of Boba Fett borrows from Japanese power structure, in ancient Japan if you hurl an insult at someone like a daimyo or lord you are not only disrespecting the insulted party, but also their family, and their servants. Such insults cannot be tolerated and as Boba Fett's Major Domo it is that droids duty to defend his masters honor from such blatant disrespect even if his master was not personally insulted.

As it's discussed a lot here, I felt I ought to point out that: Some light browsing into a not so light topic reveal that: For those unaware (dunno would the same apply to droids, who in essence spill the beans due to causing a set of protocols to conflict) torture isn't apparently a very good way of getting any usable information. This is because the victim will literally tell the one doing the torturing anything they think they want to hear to make it stop. Keywords being "whatever they think they want to hear the most" - so any usable, trustable, or reliable information isn't likely to be there. Thus, torture isn't really an interrogation method, but it's more down to sadism, and wanting to inflict inhumane torment on the victim due to enjoying that very aspect. Plus... if you want someone to tell you something, exact and concrete information: It probably isn't the best idea to go around giving them traumas and lasting psychological damage. So really, the best way to actually get someone to tell you something they don't want to tell you isn't to get the thumb screw ready, and to launch a brutal Spanish Inquisition sort of interrogation... but to just be kind, built trust, and in essence...try to be nice to em. Because, as it turns out, you get much better results without the fuss and nasty, evil business of violating someone's human rights.

@@macwelch8599 i mean that's not Necessarily true tbh . Now that Revan is canon he had his own HK droid and it's a fairly big part of his story so he's probably canon but to answer your question if a droid is capable it will be used efficiently but in order to try and control a droid they would need to put a restraining bolt on it which severely affects the overall effectiveness and programing. In other words most droids were programmed to defend against specif threats and even then could be outsmarted. Look at the IG series of droids amazing effective assassins still died by boba.

Great video. Very fun for a studying psychologist. Lol. And actually, pertaining to that statement “imagine taking a piece of brain that contained a certain memory,” it’s been found that the brain works more like a storage device that is fractal and holographic based. Meaning that not one part holds one particular memory. A test done numerous times with rats that knew the path of a extremely difficult maze. Once the rats had the maze solved perfectly each rat had different parts of their brain removed until each rat combined testing wise included the entire brain. It didn’t matter what part of the brain was removed. Each rat that survived the brain surgery solved the maze as normal. Once the memory is in the mind that memory is accessible no matter which parts are removed. (This is based on healthy brains and successful surgeries) But does show the fractal nature of each part containing the information of the whole.
