Unlike our definition of cannibalism, which is also mentioned in star wars, one would be considered a cannibal not only for eating someone of their own kind, but also other sentient beings. You are not a cannibal because you ate a steak from a cow, despite what some vegetarians might say. But what if someday we meet an alien species that looks like cows? Obviously, we wouldn't eat them, but if they saw themselves in creatures that we eat that would make future interactions awkward for both of us. Now I'm going to list every instance of cannibalism (both types) in star wars that I know of. Also, I'll try to guess which species eat the others the most and which gets eaten the most. Feel free to add more if I missed any. 1. Bossk had cannibalistic tendencies. He ate his siblings before they hatched and later his father when he defeated him. He also likes to eat Zanibar and Wookiees. It's not really clear whether it's a norm for his kind or just Bossk being a ruthless killer. It's well established in legends and cannon that Trandoshans hunt sentient beings for trophies, not so much for food. They also have a costume of eating their shed skin after a long post. Trandoshan liver is also apparently a delicacy for some people. Unless it's just a sick joke. Those lizards are very versatile, they eat others, each other, and themselves and can be eaten. 2. Previously mentioned Zanibar, their religion demanded the frequent sacrifice of sentients. It was believed that the rituals involved a feast of their enemies' bodies to give their life forces as a sacrifice to their gods. Maybe it's better for everybody that they are one of Bossk's favorite miles. 3. Certain Hutts were known to eat their enemies. They are also fond of a drink made off Rodians. Maybe that's why Jabba got so many Rodian bounty hunters, if they died or failed him, he could just eat them. 4. Humans aren't much better. Dezono Qua who lived during the rise of the Galactic Empire was a known cannibal; he purchased slaves at the market and had his droid cook them. Resa Greenbark, a Nosaurian, was one of the unfortunate slaves bought for food. "She was something…special."- Dezono Qua Certain Human cannibals were known to roam throughout the cities and wilderness of the planet Tatooine. Where else, am I right? 5. The insectoid Colicoids were known cannibals, eating off-worlders who landed on their homeworld and sometimes capturing vessels that passed too close. 6. The Rakatan individual known as The One forced many species to revert to this practice. 7. Karkarodon are known for ripping apart their enemies with their teeth. They can also go on a feeding frenzy on sentient beings when hungry or in rage. Riff Tamson munched on Mon Calamari, Gungans, Quareen and Clone Troopers aka Mandalorians aka Humans. 8. Ewoks considered humanoid flesh a delicacy, they prepare fires in anticipation of eating Han, Luke, and Chewbacca to absorb their power. They were about to eat some Stormtroopers/Humans but Leia and Han stopped them and gave them ration sticks instead. At least one member of the species wanted to eat a Nautolan and a Rodian. 9. Chewbacca, a Wookiee, was fed Han Solo, a human. Of course, he didn't eat Han, but how long was he there and what was he eating till their meeting. 10. The reptilian Marits were traditionally cannibals, as well, though the Marits' only ate those who had already died, and did so as a means of disposing of the bodies in a way they deemed beneficial to the living. 11. Anzati, natural predators, prefer to hunt sentient races of every shape, size, and species. Once a victim was within their power, the Anzati would uncoil their thin proboscises from their cheek pouches located on either side of its nose and usually inserted them into the subject's nostrils and into the cranium, where the brain was sucked out of the organism, though the Anzati fed by drawing soup out of wherever it resided in a victim, as it varied by species. 12. A member of Arcona species drank Juri juice, a drink with Rodian blood. Presented in the video. I would say that Trandoshans and Hutts are the ones that eat other species the most. Going by how common both species are, how much Hutts eat and Trandoshans hunt. The ones getting eaten the most are Humans and Rodians, because they are one of the most common species, are rather easy to kill, and come up multiple times in my research.

Reminds me of the opium wars in China. Where British companies traded opium to the Chinese for silk, tea and other goods. The Chinese enacted similar and even harsher policies than the Arconans did on salt. There wasn’t any wars fought on Cona for or against salt lol but it seems like there’s a comparison here

Yeah great point I meant to mention that at the end, I think studying that has been on of the bigger eye openers on how dark tactics can get.

Well it’s more like Britain and friends forced China at gunpoint to buy opium and open ports so they’d rack up a trade deficit and get their population addicted. That’s right, Britain was a drug lord.

@@kingagrabowska9366 confused on how this relates to the comment on not being able to salt your food, but I love things like this. 😄 quick question: I've never seen the anzati specify what the 'soup' is, and I thought it was specifically not mentioned as any particular part of the body to keep it mysterious and add to the vampireness of the species. where did you see it was specified as the brain? I know they feed on most species craniums when consuming 'soup', but I've never seen it directly confirmed as the brain itself. also, you missed nemoidians. when in the grub stage, they are purposefully given less food than is needed to keep all the individuals alive. the strong larvas survive and eat the weaker ones as food to keep themselves alive. you brought up colocoids already, I just want to reiterate how much they loved exotic meats. hell, the CIS paid them in shipments of weird meat instead of credits sometimes.

Kinda makes you wonder how species w sevierly different senses interacted w the galaxy in general. I.e. kaminoans ordered things including iirc the IR spectrum for colors (always wondered how the armor looked to them, and how useful it would be in the bigger universe. ). . The quarra had vision outside the "normal spectrum", etc. I guess from an evolutionary perspective on their planet it would make sense, but operating in a non compatible sensory environment would be a huge drag. (Another good example would be predator. The hunter had tech to make its sensory ability more useful. But take the mask off, and he had much more difficulty because it all kinda washed together. )

I won’t speculate on the science related to the Arcona, but pockets of nitrogen gas would have no appreciable affect on humans other than asphyxiation due to lack of oxygen. Earth’s atmosphere is around 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gasses. If nitrogen caused any issues with human physiology we would not have survived this long. Even in an atmosphere of pure nitrogen, you would only need a nasal cannula (the little tube under your nostrils) supplying oxygen to live indefinitely.

Bet we're never going to see the Duinuogwuin in any live action Star Wars movies. I'll be honest, their design doesn't really fit in with most Star Wars aliens. Obviously most people Aliens in Star Wars are humanoid, with the weirder ones having wings or more sets of arms. But these "Space Dragons" are like, centipede shaped reptilians with wings? And they can breathe out superheated gases 20 - 30 times more powerful than a turbolaser, and could individually deal damage equal to that of a Viscount-class Star Defender? They were ten meters long on average... They were believed to have internal organs that serve as repulsorlifts, and might be the more intelligent ancestors of Krayt dragons. Yeah, this is a very odd case. Definitely one of those Star Wars aliens that wouldn't have found their beginnings in any of the movies, shows or games. Stuff this weird comes from the books.

I always thought so too but there were tons of articles, one with the original Roman writer who mentioned this, I went down the wormhole and was like wait focus on the species lol. I didn't mention that and put the contrary on screen for no reason. It was about if they were just comparing the pay to the cost for salt, and/or they had to paid enough for salt at a minimum.

I think in terms of clone trainers they did good. All too often when training troops the primary concern is breaking them down to reforge. While I know damn well just how important this is it is worth heavy consideration as to how you reshape them and what they are to be shaped into

I hear that salt is addictive to them. I see one of them pouring an entire shaker out into his hand. My guy is about to meet god with dry ass lips.
