That's what I planned when I got mine and it already has 3d printed side steppers, lower link mounts and stroke extensions. FIY, Loops plans to release clear windows for the Isuzu for the end of the year.

Awesome video as always. What scale is the Toyota body for the SCX24? I have a 1/24 scale Hobby Plus truck and finding 1/24 scale model kits wheel bases are a short by 1/4-1/2 inch.

1/20 is the best size for most 1/24 trucks if you consider the HobbyPlus to be short wheelbase and the scx24 medium wheelbase. The road rippers JK fits the HobbyPlus perfectly, but there's a lot more options once you start adjusting your wheel base

I forget what size as I've had them laying around, but 1/24 Redcat Sumo/HBX Devastator or slightly smaller would work. Check out the Micro area on RCcrawler or the Micro Rock crawler group on FB

When I was in Hawaii I saw a lot of trucks that were lifted to the moon with almost stock sized tires. I was a very odd look and there were so many of them.

Oy Matt, shinchu from the forums here. I used that testors rattle can for my 79 ford tribute build. I sprayed the root beer pretty liberally (says one coat formula iirc) and it layed down pretty nice. BE CAREFUL with clear coat though. Mine got a little cloudy in some spots. Just go light from far away and should be okay. Maybe some testing on primered styrene to see what it does. Builds are looking great as usual sir! Need updates on that taco truck though! ;) thought I wouldnt say "tacos" this post, didnt you??!

Depending on your wheel base a HobbyPlus CR-18 is a great start. The axles are widened CR-24 axles, the chassis is similar but obviously longer with a few other improvements over the CR-24. Compared to a RC4WD 1/18 it's half the price with a more useable wheelbase for 1/18 bodies. If you're using a short WB or medium WB an SCX24 works well

That's a shame... I'm hoping for a Hardbody NOT very expensive, to replace the ProLine Lexan Comanche Body on mine... I checked out the links you left... Comma D?? Has several Engine options! He's got a 345 International Engine - perfect for a Scout II... But with just a little massaging, could make an acceptable 360 AMC Engine for the Comanche/Cherokee. At least up to 1984... 😉 ON my Wish list for sure!

Well, if you want a Tamiya kit, get the CC-02 when it comes out...

New to the channel in the hobby what is a dig unit

Dig is a lockout for the rear axle. When engaged, the rear axle doesn’t spin. Allowing you to pivot the truck around in very tight radius. Helpful in comps and technical rock crawling.

Don't know if you'll be running 2 or 3s in the trekker build but I run 2 1800mah 2s packs and they sit under the cab on top of "sliders" I built. Check out the "JK build breakdown" video on my channel and you'll see what I mean.
